Pregnancy Ultrasound Taining School on the Gold Coast

Hey Everyone, a few friends told me about this school that needs Volunteers to help teach the doctors Ultrasound. Im 24 weeks now & have been twice and just had the best experience! I was able to take a VHS Tape for them to record & they were successfull to tell me the babies sex, but very professional in keeping it a secret if i didnt want to know! Ive told the girls there that i would let as many people know as possible! All the scans are free but you still have to go to your doctors ones but you can go as many times as you like! The best way to see your baby more. If anyone would like to make a booking all you need to do it call the Australian Institute of Ultrasound on 5526 6655 & chat with the girls there, they will help you with everything like they did with me! The great thing is anyone can do at any stage of pregnancy!
if anyone has anymore question just let me know!

I know, it woudld be great if there were more places like this. After your 20 wk scan you dont generally get anymore. It just gives you a little peace of mind. They are lovely people so helping them out is a bonus too!

That's funny, cause someone was telling me this morning they send you for another u/s at about 34-36w to check that bubs is in the right position for birth. I was counting on this one so that hubby would actually get to see the bubs again!

Tara - some OB's send you for a 34 week scan to check on the placental health, but most do not. I'm lucky, mine does, so I am due for mine on Monday.

Does anyone know if there is a similar place in Melbourne?

Tara, obs/midwives can feel the position of the baby to know how it is laying but might do this if there bubs is breech etc.

Im not sure if there are any other place apart from the gold coast. My Obs doesnt do 34/36 week scans & i hear so many horror stories about the cord being wrapped around the babies neck that its great peace of mind for me. The AIU is happy to scan up to 37 weeks. I just made another appointment for next week & the girls said that they still need more people so if anyone knows anyone on the coast thats pregnant, make sure you let them know!
