Should I go back to the doctor? possibly measles

    Hi,

Last Thursday night DD 14 months started having fevers. By Friday morning she has a febrile convulsion (at the doctors thankfully), we treated her temps with neurofen and panadol. Her fevers continued and she had another convulsion that night. I took her back to the doctor the next day and she said that DD had a red throat and swollen tonsils. She prescribed anitbiotics. DD fevers continued for 2 more days. Today was the first day without a fever (day 5) but she has slept for hour on end and she now has a red rash under chin and on her chest. The rash is very light.

She had her 12 month immunisations 3wks ago so I did not think about measles. But now the rash has come out I think I should have this investigated. What do you think?

I would definitely go back. Sometimes children can develop a light spotty rash due to viral infection, but I think based on what you have described it warrants further investigation. Hope she turns the corner soon. xxx

Bek, If you're not sure you could try calling the 13health number (13 43 25 84) and ask their advice.. I would be taking her back though... hope everything calms down soon..
