    Langkawi - Must see's & Do's!

We are jetting off on honeymoon to Langkawi for 6 nights in a few weeks (child free - which I am relieved but also worried about lol) & we are just starting to look into what to do. Staying at the Mutiara Bauru, looks divine & so romantic. Has anyone been & can recommend things to do & see?

Thats what I'm worried about, its scary leaving her behind, never been apart from her for longer than a night when she stayed at my parents. She is staying with the inlaws who love her to bits, so I'm not too worried I know she will be well cared for. Its me I'm worried about lol!

We did a night market tour that was lots o fun. Got to try different foods etc.
Hired a motorbike and went touring. Cars were earier to get but motorbikes more fun.
Island hopping tour. Watched eagle feeding and these fish that nibble your feet.

Watch out for the monkeys! thaey can be nasty little critters, steal stuff from your bags

Shansamkelly - The holiday beach villa looks so nice, we looked at that one too. We went to Penang in Sept 08 & stayed at the lone pine, was so nice. Penang is great.

Kate - Yep we have been thinking of hiring a motorbike.

Oh my god - I LOVED LOVED LOVED Langkawi!!!!!!

You girls are so lucky to be going there for your honeymoons, you will just love it I'm sure!

We had out honeymoon there in 2003 and had a ball. Haven't heard of where you're staying - we stayed in the Pelangi Beach Resort, or something like that!

Doesn't really matter where you are - you'll be able to see the whole island while you're there anyway.

I recommend hiring a motorbike- great fun. Going to the markets and to shop in the town (sorry, can't remember the name). Also the seven ponds (I think) were gorgeous and we swam under the waterfall in the bottom one.

Eating out on the main street near our hotel was great (lots of cheap and delicious food)- especially seafood- they have it on display!

We went on a day trip to the snorkelling islands - great fish life and coral.

We did a boat trip too - saw the eagles feeding off the fish in the water. This also included a trip to an island that had a fresh water lake in the middle, where we went swimming - beautiful. There was also carp feeding at that place and the fish were just teeming out of the water! I think that lake was known for fertility for women or something... might end up UTD!!

Lot of nice beaches to walk along, and bars on the beach, too. Drank coconut milk out of a coconut!!

OK, that's all I can remember now. But it's such a nice place - not overly touristy when I went there, although that may have changed. Very small and welcoming I thought.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
