I'm tossing around ideas for when no.2 finally comes along. We didn't use cloth on DD until about 16m, and I know what I like for her (trim, trim and more trim LOL), but I understand it's not the same for newborns.
Anyway, I'm thinking of the BG OSFA but I'm wondering how bulky they are on a newborn?
I can't imagine how a OSFA could accommodate such a range of sizes and weights.
If you use them, how do they go under clothes? Do you need to use bigger clothing sizes?

Umm I'm only JUST about to start using OSFA bumg's on DD. But I found the sized ones absolutely brilliant on her from birth.

i found the OSFA were a bit too big for DD when she was born (she was 2.7kgs). even the hopsy huggies newborn were swimming tho'!

We waited until DD was 5kgs to start using the OSFA. and she is still going strong on them.

I have used them since birth for Angel, but as a cover over the terry flats. I didn't wanna ruin them with newborn poop!!

i have just started using them as a pocket and they are great.... she's 4.9 kg....

I love BG nappies! I first tried one on Gemma when she was 10 days old. She was born weighing 3.99 kg.

She is now 10 weeks old and about 5.65 kg and they are great! A tiny bit bulky but they fit under most bodysuits.

I found them to be waaaay too bulky on ds when he was a newborn, i love a big clothy bum but this was rediculous, sized nappies were heaps better as he still fit into his clothes and didnt look too odd.

At 5 kilos they fit heaps better but still a little bulky

We started using our BGs at about 4.5-5 kgs (about 6 weeks) and they were great then. But, yeh, I thought they were a bit big for a newborn.
BG AIOs were great for a newborn, they are just so itsy and cute!

Some pants may be a bit tight but generally it doesn't make too much of a difference. Probably the main thing is that don't get too many baby tops that button up between the legs as they probably won't fit.

I've liked the ones we have (got 4) but have chosen not to buy anymore.
They are version 2's (V3's don't seem to be all that different from what I've seen) which have had a lot of use over almost 2 years. The elastic has gone and the velcro and lycra stretchy bits look very tatty. I don't think I'll get 2 kids worth out of them. Personally I wouldn't have too many of them in my stash due to them not wearing well, but they do work well and are trim.
