fastest drying modern cloth nappies?

Hi all,

Just wanted to know people's opinions on the fastest drying modern cloth nappies?

I ordered a trial pack from BBH with a bamboo fitted, hemp fitted and all-in-one. Arrived on Monday, washed them on Monday and hung them out to dry Monday night... yesterday they were still noticeably damp! I'm not sure what I am doing wrong... I am bringing them in at night, putting them back out again during the day, bringing them in when it rains... not sure we can use these full time if drying normally takes this long! :-( Any suggestions on ones that will dry quicker?

(To give the nappies credit (if I can say that!), some of our clothes were also in the same situation, but they were dry by yesterday evening - maybe it is just the humidity of this place?!!)

I have not tried enough to know but I think Hemp dries slower than bamboo.
I made some of my own bamboo ones and they dry quicker than BBH.

Hey Shellshell, my bbh always take the longest to dry (bar the night nappies) but you'll find that the better working/more absorbant the nappy, the longer it will take to dry. I find that a good day of full sun will have the bbh nice & dry, but sometimes it takes a couple'days of part sun.

If you're after quick drying nappies too, for the times when nothing is dry, try some pocket nappies, like bumwear, greenkids, blueberry, swaddlbees..... (*insert huge list of pocket nappies here lol) the shell dries fast as it has no absorbant material & the insert dries faster because it's out on it's own IYKWIM.

Thats really funny Salsa cos I find that my bamboo take longer to dry than my hemp!! lol

The quickest ones for me are pockets. Cos then I just double up on inserts, and then I always have something to put in them. Ittis are good for this as well, cos the shells dry overnight.

Bumg's AIO's are really quick drying here too - 2 nights on the clothes horse with no sun and they are dry.

Baby Beehinds Bamboos are one of the longest drying nappies around. The hemp ones will dry a bit quicker but they aren't as absorbant. You will notice that when you start using them. Bamboo holds more which is whey they take longer to dry. You will also find that with more use they dry faster. I don't know whay that is but it may have something to do with the fibres wearing in and shedding excess fluff or something (like a new towel).

Pockets and All in 2's are the quickest drying because they all come apart and the boosters separate and flatten to one or two layers. They aren't as absorbent as the BBB's though which is the trade off for faster drying.

Definitely pockets are fast. Out of my stash Bumgenius are fastest as they are a pocket and the inserts are microfibre.

We have bad humidity here and I hate leaving nappies to dry for days as I find they smell a bit. If it's rainy or humid I put them all in the dryer on low.
