    Shopping with bubs???

I am just wondering how you are meant to go clothes shopping with a baby lol not sure if this is the right place to post this........ anyways, im interested to find out how other mums have tackled this situation......like how do you try on clothes when you have a pram that doesnt fit in with you???? I know its a silly question but its the only thing stopping me from gettting a much needed new wardrobe since i stretched everything hahaha

I either go with a friend who watches pram and gives me opinion on clothes, (wouldnt go with DH as he hates clothes shopping) or go to shops that have big change rooms, or buy stuff and try it on at home and if i dont like or doesnt fit take it back!

    good luck

I found that when i finally made it to the shops to try clothes on, i was so mortified by what i saw in the mirror that i put the clothes back and went home !!

Nothing seemed to fit properly and i felt so out of shape that it was a huge blow to my self esteem.

    Hence - i waited for a while !

Try to get a big fitting room - like a multi purpose fitting room - especially for mums with prams or wheelchairs etc. Take someone with you if you can, to help with bubs.

    Its certainly an adventure !

    Good luck !

If you take bubs with you - duck into the disabled change room - lots of room in there. (of course, be prepared to jump out if a disabled person needs to use it)

Its been suggested to me when I've needed the room by the fitting room attendants to do it.

I went when baby Liebling was asleep and didn't fully close the curtain so I could see him.

Now I either don't try on, leave DS with DH, or go with a girlfriend to watch DS for me.

I basically didn't go clothes shopping until i had a stroller when DD was 5mths old ... the stroller has fitted into every change i have had to go into (whereas my pram wouldn't have fitted) ... mind you it's a bit of a squeeze and be prepared to belt a couple of elbows on the inside walls of the changing room

I first would always look for changing rooms for the disabled ... Target usually have them.

Lol I usually just park DD's pram just outside the door/curtain of the changeroom I'm using and peek over the top of the door when I haven't got my arms above my head
She loves mirrors so if I put her where she can sit and look at herself, she's usually pretty happy to let me have a few minutes to try stuff on.
Also, if there is a clucky shop assistant/assistant who is also a mum nearby, they usually stop whatever they're doing and come over to gush over bubs or just chat to you through the door about kids so you have someone watching them for you lol

The few times I have done this I have used the cocoon that came with the P&T pram. It is easy to carry from the car if you are parked fairly close and will sit on the bench or floor in the change room. If I have walked to the shops, then I pull the cocoon out of the pram and leave the pram in the shop.

I do the same for appointments like doctor etc. when I don't want to wear DS because he will have to be taken out of the HAB when I get into the appointment. I park nearby and then use the cocoon to carry - then I can also change a nappy in it if there is nowhere else appropriate available.

If you're working to get your figure back, the hot tip I was given (way too late) was to go get a girdle as it helps your body return and the preggy overhang to become flat tummy again ....

I use either the end cubicle and park Pip outside and chat to him, or go into a disabled / pram change room.

when dd was a bub, id plan shoppig trips aound nap times, so she slept in the pram. i browsed while she slept, fed her when she woke, then i tended to go with the flow.. if she was happ to stay in the pram for a while, id keep browsing...

as for trying stuff on.... whats that? lol im the queen of exchange! i just grab and try on at home! UNLESS its an urgent buy, ie i need to wear it the next day or whatever. i tend to buy from the smae shops, so i generally know my size.

Ah.. it takes me back in time.
Thursday night was my time. DH had to be home from work to feed the girls, I had tea ready, bath them if needed and put them to bed.
One week I would do the grocery shopping the other week was for me. It didn't always work this way but was worth it when it happened.
I used to enjoy doing the grocery shopping slowly and looking a items properly instead of them being a blur.
Is there any way you could do this?
