I had an ultrasound on day 2 of my cycle to have a look and see how things were looking.
Day 3 I started 50iu of FSH (puregon) for 9 days, on day 11 I had another ultrasound to see the size and amount of follicles I had produced with the help of the FSH (one huge 22mm one!) and then that night at 8pm I had my Pregnyl trigger 1500iu.
36 hours later I had the IUI done.
Then I had more pregnyl injections 3 days after the IUI and then again 4 days after that.
I test on tuesday to see if it's worked!
EEKK!
Everyone seems to do things a bit differently though, that is just what I went through.
I just really wanted to see if it can work first time for people.
I'm so anxious.

I too am I anxious to find out how successful IUI is. I have scoured many sites to find this information but unfortunately have not found much at all. My doctor has more or less indicated theres not much hope by telling us to try IUI for up to 6 cycles until I can start using my private health insurance to cover me for IVF. I am also keen to find out success rates for couples where the male has a problem with sperm abnormalities and/or low motility.
I am just starting my first cycle of IUI. Started on Clomid today
Just found this topic. Myself and my husband are planning home insemination through a privately found donor, I wonder if anyone has done this and been successful in the first attempt or first few attempts.
I haven't done home insemination, but we tried for a while before going IUI. I imagine home insemination would have the same conception success rates as regular intercourse. IUI increases your chances by about 10% so perhaps IUI would make it happen quicker is that is your intention? As I mentioned a while back, it worked first time for us.
I want to do IUI with fertility clinic first. We have moved away from doing home insemination. Our first clinic we found there is a waiting list for sperm donor but is willing to give us 3 IUI attempts before moving to IVF. Our second clinic we found has no waiting lists for donor sperm but does not do IUI and will only do IVF because of the shortage of sperm.
I would rather try IUI first, and wondering if I can convince this new clinic we found with no waiting list to try 3 IUI's first??
