I visit the Names in the Sand website every day or 2 and as I was reading her blog I was HORRIFIED to read that some lady had e mailed saying her children were born 'not breathing' so the wonderful lady Carly went to the beach, wrote the children's names in the sand and took stunning pics only to be alerted later that this woman had lied! and was caught out bragging about it on another parenting forum!! WTF!!! Who would do that..It makes me sick!

ETA: I've just gone and read her blog myself and I now have tears in my eyes...and I'm not even a baby lost mama myself. I found out about this site just recently when one of my best friends lost her baby at 8 days old. I thought it was the most beautiful gesture and I can't believe someone took advantage of Carly like that. It's one of the most disgusting examples of thievery I've ever heard of. What a lovely woman she is to decide to continue to take every email at face value. I would have felt so betrayed.

It is a sad fact of life that there are stupid, sick people out there that do these things and get enjoyment out of it.
I really hope this woman never has to endure the pain & heartbreak of a loss... if she does, she will have very limited places in which she will be able to get online support after this charming little stunt.

i don't see whats to brag about or even why do it it beyond me... if it was just cause she like the look of it written in the sand she should have gone and did it her self. that's just sooo wrong.

Unfortunately there are people who just need the attention. We have had our fair share here on BB also. It sickens me that people are so unconscious that they will abuse the trust and kindness of good people.

However, let's focus on how many amazing people there are who will do beautiful kind things (like carly from Names in the sand) just because they have compassion for others...

I read that the woman wanted some nice pics for her house and that's why she lied. That is sick. Urgh... it bugs me so much.
I requested for Noah's name to be written in the sand today... it will be such an honour to have that done for him... and such a disgrace that someone can take advantage of Carly's love and good nature like the woman who lied about her children. I wonder how her poor children would feel if and when they find out their mum told someone they had died, just to get their names written in the sand?

What a horrible woman. I would never wish that grief on anyone. Its not right. At all.

That said, I thank you for leading me to that website, and I have now sent a request for a tribute to be made to my niece for my Sister and BIL. Their daughter is a SIDS Angel. I feel it is important for the whole family to share in the remembrance of their baby. It should never be left just to them to speak her name.
