IVF clinics anywhere in Aus that specialize in Older Women (I'm 42)

Hi

Because of the abysmal results of our last 2 cycles, I'm thinking that we [quickly] need to make sure we are working with people who are on the cutting-edge of treating older women for infertility. You can see the cycles and results from my signature. We are willing to travel to other states (although I am curious about Medicare coverage - would it be the same) for treatment.

As a last result we are thinking of going to NY for a consult although I don't think we could afford to do a full cycle there. We are hoping that a doctor would be willing to do an hour paid review of our file and consult...but of course, we want to exhaust our options here first.

BullieJ : Why New York? Have you heard they do things differently ? I can ask my friends who live over there and are in the ttc business, but I need to know what exactly I am asking for.

You can ring medicare and ask about trips to Sydney etc, I would say Medicare will be covered Aust wide..

NY because I am from there - thus it would be a combined visit. I have a number of older friends there who have had success and would see one of their reccomendations. I also think they may have some more aggressive drug protocols (this is a suspicion - not a fact that I know)

The other reason for NY (besides that it is home and it would be a good excuse for a visit), is that I think from my readings (and own experience and knowledge of NYC from living there for many, many years) that the number of women who wait to have babies is greater in NY than anywhere else in the world so the doctors in the NY clinics deal with huge numbers of women over 40.
