My husband & i have just completed our first IVF cycle, all went well and was not nearly as painful as i had anticipated.
Right now it's been 4 days since i finished taking Crinone & have had spotting for the last 2 days. I'm not sure if I'm mistaken and it's actually my period, it doesn't feel like it but after all the medication maybe this is how my body is responding. I'm a little worried, I've called the nurses & am waiting for someone to ring me back.
If anyone has any advice I'd be grateful.
I too just finished my Crinone on my first IVF cycle. I was concerned to start with as I had some stuff while on the Crinone that wasn't quite spotting, but was an odd colour/texture. After the Crinone, I also had period pains (very low level, but the heavy, dull ache of pre-period). I was really worried, and confessed to DH that I was scared. I did some research on line about it, and it said that it's perfectly ok & very common. Apparently bleeding can also be common. It can be described as an implant bleed, or you could be one of the infrequent ladies that still bleed a little when pregnant.
If you've finished the Crinone, then you would have had you blood test. How were the results? I had very low pregnancy hormone, and the nurse said it could go either way (but I think it's stuck now) so I need another test on Thursday.
I too had some brownies stuff/bleed just after coming off the crinone and I was so scared it was going to be all over for me. But all was fine. that everything is ok for you!xx
I did get a call from the nurse, she assured me it's not my period (if it were it would heavier & a lot more painful than usual). She said spotting is not uncommon and that's it's not necessarily a good or a bad thing. So it's back to being in limbo.
My blood test is Friday and it couldn't come any sooner.
I had severe period pain after the embryo transfer and had a lot of discharge whilst on the Crinone but thankfully I've had no pain since finishing it just the spotting.
Appreciate your advice/comments.
Best of luck for your blood test of Thursday
best of luck with your blood test
crinone is aweful!!!!! although i didn't have any pain or spotting i knew i was pregnant before my blood test results...
fingers/toes and everything else crossed for you hun!!! we only had the 1 attempt and it resulted in my little man Jack
Just moving your thread into the LTTTC/AC area Mays.
Best of luck with your BT on Friday
Crinone can cause lots of cramping and discomfort and also can irritate the cervix causing dark spotting. Its the catch 22 of AC as all of those symptoms can also be implantation ones too .
The Crinone did some odd things to me. The doctor said I would be bloated... btu said nothing of the constipation! I think the metamucil shares went up this month! LOL!
My fingers are crossed for you. But try not to sneak in a cheat wee-test because I did, and was so very sad when there was no pink line. gladly the nurse called the next day & explained my preg hormone was really low. So hang in there, and keep us up to date.
Hi Entreat,
I've been well very busy with work at the moment.
Had my blood test last Friday and i have to say i felt sick waiting for the phone to ring.
The test was positive, looks like we're having a baby!!!! so excited but just waiting for an ultrasound on Monday. Hopefully all is well.
With the bleeding, it lasted for exactly 5 days (which is how long my periods usually go for). it will be interesting to see whether i get some more when my periods are due next.
Congrats!! That awesomely exciting!! Odd with the bleeding - but great that it was all ok.
Sadly for me, mine didn't last. But I'm looking forward to next implant.
I'll call the clinic today to find out when that might happen. I was chatting with a girlfriend this weekend, and as she went through two years of TTC with IUI, and she's been really good to talk to.
Congrats again! I can't wait to hear about your ultrasound results.
So sorry it didn't work out for you, i hope you have more luck next time
I'm sure it would have be hard but sounds like you have a positive attitude and i think that helps so much.
I too have a friend who went through IVF for 2 years and if it weren't for her, i would have gone insane by now. It's great you have someone to talk to.
