3 yo constantly clearing her throat

Hello,

About 4 weeks ago DD started clearing her throat in the mornings. This has progressed to all the time. I have asked her if her throat is sore but she always says that there is nothing wrong. Our group leader at playgroup has suggested it maybe a nervous thing.

Has anyone experienced this? I am thinking of taking her to the doctor just to make sure that there is nothing in her throat.

some times allergies present themselves as a ticklish throat. My DD used to always clear her throat and wasn't even aware she was doing it.

I get shocking allerigies, so i tried her with an antihistimine and it settled down. I only needed to give her one every now and then, and haven't done for years now

Thanks Dee, I will try an antihistimine. Of course I have googled it and I got everything from asthma and allergies to ticks.

Hi Bek,
Our ds 15 has very bad allergies to all sorts of things & is a very bad Asthmatic,he clears his throat all the time,but we have just manage to get into an allergy clinic at the Children`s Hospital,so far he`s only had the allergy tests done,but we haven`t got down to the reasons for the throat clearing,but he does complain of it being Itchy and he suffer`s bad Sinus as well. You might have to get dd checked for allergies too hun.

I'd prob get the GP to check it out. It maybe that she liked the sensation and now it's become a habit. xo

i do it all the time and I have bad asthma.

my GF Ds did this all the time too turned out to be asthma...GL at the doctors...
