Just a reminder to all: all LTers love seeing a fellow LTer achieve that longed-for BFP, and we all find hope in one of our own having success in this difficult journey. But please remember that there are those who cycled with you who may not have received good news at the end of their cycle. Please do not post baby/child/pg tickers or pg related signatures (eg blinking BFP icons) etc in this forum out of respect for them.
As it's easy to forget to remove your ticker, please be advised that we will remove it for you if it's posted in here. Just easier, is all.
Very quiet in here just wondering how you are all doing?
Buliej: have you decided which FS to see for a second opinion and when will you start the cycle with your current FS?
Kel: hope you're going okay, not long now till your appointment.
Lisa: hang in their hun, hope the results will come soon.
WLAB: hope AF stays away.
CP: Cyclecbuddy - looks we'll be doing the antagonist cycle at nearly the same time, I'll probably be a week later than you.
WTH: Are you back from your holiday, hope your little one is going well.
Meredith: Hope things have settled down.
AFM: Not doing much at the moment apart from taking Wheatgrass ( starting to get used to it) and DHEA and trying to relax. Sailing last weekend was really nice was watching the sunset over the lake and taking an early morning walk listening to all the birds.
Just want to hot it up this thread and showing off my new avvy...
Not much to report from my end, waiting waiting and waiting for the next antagonist cycle. Sara, the Org. drug sounds so expensive I am scared. Lucky I am over safty net now so at least the cycle fee won't be too huge.
to everyone and I hope the two pregnant ladies are doing well...
I just started my next cycle with my current FS - it's a "natural cycle" assisted by clomid. That's it. I'm not very optimistic and really already dreading the retrieval and the phone call about the egg not being good. I guess the one good thing is no jabbing or sniffing.
I also was "told off" by my acupuncturist for not waiting. She thinks I should not do back-to-back cycles - I told her my FS is very concerned about the tickety-tock of the biological clock, but the AP didn't care - she did explain that Chinese medicine looks at things very differently, and my body has to be tip-top to produce good eggs. Meanwhile, I've been spending tons of money on AP and horrible tasting herbs and, other than relaxing while there, it hasn't helped. I don't think it's her skills, she is very good - but I think it's my body. She also didn't like that I haven't been having all my herbs which she knows because I have left over and then don't want to spend more on new herbs. She explained that they are different formulas depending on where you are in your cycle and that I need to "commit" to the herbs.
I do have an appointment with a new FS on 22 April at a different clinic - I figure, I might as well change 2 variables. By that time I should be on the DHEA as well. I hope to start DHEA shortly after my next appointment with the "anti-aging" dr which is on 1 April.
I'm back A little behind on things on this thread. Will do my best to catch up with you all. It was actually very weird not being able to log on these past few weeks. Went a little stir-crazy wondering how you were all doing.
Cuddlepie - a belated for your BFN. I really thought it was your month. I hope your fibroids keep well away and you are back on your way in no time. The orgalutron sure IS expensive, but my pharmacist did a separate script for each syringe, so I got back I think about $50 for each $90. Then you can claim back another 20% at tax time. BTW I love your avvy, too
Sara - hi hon. I have replied to your PM, though I know it might be a little late now.
Buliej - have also replied to your PM. I really hope it has been of some help to you.
Kel - how you going???
Lisa - I have only skimmed the past thread, but from what I gather you are STILL waiting for those results. I know I would be going stir-crazy if I was in your shoes. Hold on - can't be much longer now!
AFM - after going 2.5 weeks with no BT's we had our first US yesterday and managed a beautiful HB. Bubs two days ahead of schedule at 7wks+4 and a good strong HB of 154 bpm. IVF clinic rang me today to say they are closing my file! DH and I are cautiously thrilled about this milestone. Things tend to go pear-shaped for us over the next couple of weeks. First official OB appointment on Friday...
Now, some very sweet people out there have given me two random acts of kindness. I am going to research what this entails, but grateful to be thought of all the same.
WTH - I was wondering when your HB scan was - I knew it was shortly after your return. I'm thrilled for you and your husband! Keep us posted with your progress.
WTH, welcome back and so looking forward to seeing your new avvy...well done of getting RAK x2! So glad all is going well and you have a strong heart beat, woo hoo!
About the drugs, as I only have hospital cover, I guess I won't be able to claim any back or is medicare covers part of it? How many of Orgorgalutron have you used in your cycle?
Julie, sorry you are feeling a bit pessimestic, its so hard itsn't it? All the anticipations and not even to mention the financial drain. I have to admit that I have lapsed on AP and herbs, for one is that my temp is keep up so APist said all is good to free of herbal medicines, second, my private health insurance is hospital only, so I get nothing back and its just getting all too expensive. I will still do prior and after transfer but stopped the weekly session. Hope this cycle works out for you hun!
CP- I am currently debating the same thing - only to use AP before/after transfer - I think that's a good compromise. Thanks for your wishes. Hope you can start your next cycle soon.
CP - The org was expensive for me too - I nearly fainted when the chemist said oh that will be $342.00 dollars thanks.. I didnt know you can claim it at tax time
WTH : Well done on a wonderful scan - you must be thrilled, welcome back
Sara : I have never tried wheatgrass - I hope it is the magic ingredient for you
Bullie: I thought you were going to do timed BD with Clomid, I didnt realise you are having an egg pick up, my FS has a patient on dheas, she reallyt did not elaborate a lot on it when I saw her. If you are off to Monash, let me know .. I hope this natural cycle is just what you need
AFM: Temps have been down, so I am waiting for AF to start a new flare cycle. My FS said she will be transfering at day 2, so unless I have little miracle embies, I wont get to PGD ..
I hope everyone's well researched differnt approaches work really well xx
WTH: that is wonderful news, great everthing is fine with your bub. Will keep sending lots of sticky vibes.
Buliej: with your cycle. Wouldn't worry too much about the AP opinion, you have to do what you feel comfortable with.
CP: Think WTH means $50 from her health fund - there is a 20% tax refund for out-of-pocket expenses over $1500 Net medical expenses tax offset
This is per financial year so it makes sense if you need new glasses, go to the dentist etc and you're already over the $1500 to do all this in this financial year.
WLB: Sorry to hear that AF is on the way, keeping fingers crossed for the new cycle.
Have specifically logged back on tonight because I made the terrible omission of Meredith!
Meredith - how are you going, my sweet? I read you have two in there , but have had some bleeding. I it has eased up and you are coping better with the MS
Cuddlepie - yes, the $50 was from my health fund, but you will certainly be able to get 20% back on your Medicare in your tax return now you have passed the threshold. By memory I had it 6 times the first cycle and 5 times the second cycle.
Wouldloveabubba - Good luck to you with your up-and-coming cycle
