im concerned about DD's loo-oong tounge, its really long !

im really worried about DD's tounge , its soo long .. it gets caught in her mouth and actually has trouble trying to get it to come out of her mouth .

i have tried her with solids here and there and its as though she cant eat properly , when she does manages to get her long tounge out of her mouth its soo long its past her chin !!!

its cute and funny ... but im a little paranoid about it ...

any one else had exp with a baby with a long tounge ??

Lea I cant say I have dealt with a child with a long tongue but I have a really long tongue. I dont have the little skin part that holds it down iykwim. I will ring mum and ask her how I was when feediing etc! But I remember her saying I was a really loud child casue of it?? Any questions feel free to ask!

Maybe take her to the drs to ask?

Juliette has a really long tongue (photo here & you can't see the whole lot cos it's tucked under at the bottom IYKWIM) and has never had any problems with eating, but she was started after the recommended six months. Do you think maybe your DD isn't ready for solids & that's the problem?

Boomba - "really loud" ?? tell me more.. Gabbi it very vocal is that what you mean ..

Sarah- i thought she wasnt ready for solids, i havent pushed it on to her .. she is a very hungry baby grabs food off the plate , she can eat soft food like a chip or cooked carrot sticks with out choking .
Juliette , is gorgey . Gabriellas tounge extends past her chin. her tounge is long and skinny
looks a bit like the kiss bloke , gene simmons !

i will try and get a pic up ..its so hard to get her tounge out and take a pic though
