you can get a homeopath to make up a whooping cough one. infact all can be done homeopathically
i am really worried about whooping cough. Can the vaccine for this be isolated?
My doctor told me that it cant....
It is the only one I would consider giving. We are very concerned about the levels of heavy metals, teh connections to autism, the relevance of some of the vaccines (australia is now basically measles free apparently) in vaccinations...........
Any ideas? Any wys to boost any natural immunity to whooping cough?

yeah i was looking into that - did message tracey but havent looked into it further....
its just really scarey, its the only one that i have a fear of........
i think if you are bfing her and she isnt being exposed to it (put in the trolley at the supermarket) type exposure you are doing the best any way to protect her..iykwim? being so close to you in her sling keeps her so much safer too.

One of my friends doesn't vax and both of hers got whooping cough at 10months and 4 years.
I won't lie and tell you it was a walk in the park, both of them were quite ill for quite a long time BUT niether had to go to hospital, and both survived and got better within a few months. The 4 year old was no longer BF but the baby was and he definitely benefitted from the BM when he couldn't eat (they both lost quite a lot of weight).
When you made the decision not to vax you did so by weighing up the relative risks. I know it's scary when you are faced with the reality of the situation, but with no-vaxing you have to trust your decisions sometime hun!Eventually they are exposed and you deal with it as the generations before vaccines (who were generally in poorer health than you and yours will be, and no doubt got iller and died more often because of it!) did.
The only way to get immunity to a disease is to have the disease (or in some cases the vaccine, though not all vaccines use the actual disease cells to stimulate antibodies). Find a GOOD reliable homeopath to look after you all. My friends have a naturopathic doctor who understands and respects their aversion to western medicine and it makes a huge difference because instead of offering the same thing they don't want again and again they help them find alternatives.
Best of luck.

Kitt3n we don't vax ari as her big bro has autism and even the dr said he would risk it with our family history.
As hoobley said - you have to trust your instinct and research not to vax at some time. We recently had a measles outbreak here and I was in the same boat - freaking out about did we do the right thing etc. I changed a lot of my routines so she wasn't in high risk areas - Dr offices, supermarkets, schools, during the outbreak and told all my friends we weren't Vacinated and could they let me know if they or anyone they were close to had come into contact and we would stay away until it passed. Basically I was faced with this equation, measles, whooping cough etc very dangerous diseases but DD is a healthy little girl and we have access to good medical facilities if she did get sick where as autism is forever.
There is homeopathic info I can send you via pm if you like - very interesting.
Go to another Doctor.
Most of the vaccs have now been combined into one shot (!?!?!) to make things easier.
However, if you are against this, you CAN have them done seperately, you just need to find doctor who will do it. (IE get of their arse and do the work needed to obtain the vacc from the manufacturer)
You may have to pay for it.
Good luck - dont let them push you around hun, your baby, your choice.
sarah - wow i like the sound of your doc, one who admits it! mine said its all higwash and that we should re-think the vaccinations. He also told me DD no longer has thrush on her tongue (well she DOES!) and to use straight peroxide on her belly buttom. needless to say i am in the market for a new doctor.
ls - i didnt knwo you could break that one up?! yep, need a new doctor.
hoobley - yes i know i have to follow my gut instinct, thankyou for reassuring me of that.
doudou - as you say, i do keep her close. when we do the school drop offs she is in the sling (only twice has she been in the pram) that way kids cant touch her, and DD always washes her hands before touching her face. i'd never put her in a trolley thing eewww! he he
extra special thankyou to sarah for the pm's info.... i have looked at most of that as part of my research, just now to find who is that good homeopath! lol
Kitten - just for your reference...using Peroxide on the belly button is not a bad idea. Peroxide is probably one of the best disinfectants you can use. It isnt 100% pure or anything like as strong as you put on your hair to bleach it! You can buy it at the supermarket in the toiletries, comes in a little brown bottle Fauldings I think is the brand. It is fabulous . We use it on toothpaste, whitens your teeth and it very mild. Dont drink it or anything...but yeah the peroxide bit is pretty good value.
lol - LS he told me to you full strength hair peroxide!
I am pretty sure you can get it seperately. I would be asking someone else.
I would be getting it done too

My Dad just had a pertussis booster today at the Dr's. So it does exist in single doses. Maybe research it yourself and then head to a new Drs and ask..... ETA- actually i am not 100
% they didn;t give him a combined shot.... will find out.
We selectively immunise. I read a great book called 'the vaccine book' by Dr Bob Sears. It provides good information about the diseases, their actual risks as well as the immunisations and their risks.
I will be getting pertussis immunisation done for this next one.
There is alot saying a single dose is not available, but i found this.....
It's from a NSW government website.Monovalent pertussis vaccine
A monovalent pertussis (acellular) vaccine is now available. The vaccine, by Smith Kline Beecham is known as PaRIX and is available through the Special Access Scheme (SAS). The procedure for accessing the vaccine can be facilitated by ringing the SAS Officer at the Therapeutic Goods Administration on (06) 232 8111.

Ange, thanks so much for mentioning Bob Sears, I am having a fantastic time reading his info on vaccs (particularly MMR) and I think I will sleep well tonight![]()
Kitt3n- i hope it is still available. Fingers crossed! I'd shoot the company an email and ask them.
No probs Janie. I found the book great. You are welcome to borrow it.
Ange, I would love to sometime, if that's okay. I feel a bit weird borrowing something from you ATM though!!!! As long as you know where it is
The whole vacc thing is something that's been doing my head in for awhile, so it's great to read his stuff, it really works in with our philosophy.
