Comfy but inexpensive sofa bed wanted

    Hi All

We're moving house soon and wanting to set up a spare room with a sofa bed instead of a queen size bed so we can save some space.

We're after a fairly comfy sofa bed that's not too expensive. We're in Perth so we have access to Ikea and most major franchises.

    Any suggestions?

What are you thinking price-wise? If it'll only be a bed occasionally, would you consider a futon? We're tossing up the idea of a futon in our spare room when we move.

Those futonish ones where it folds in the middle lengthways are the best because you don't have a bar in the middle of your back the way you do with the beds that fold the other way. They're usually pretty cheap too and very easy to unfold and refold.
I used to have one in my lounge and on extra lazy nights I'd just unfold it and sleep there instead of going to my bed.
This is the kind of design I'm talking of - you just push the back down to make it a bed.

we got a great sofa bed for $999 at harvey norman.

Make sure you do all ypur measurements well as we had to change the sofa bed we wanted as we have a narrow hallway and couldnt turn to get it in!

Friends have one from Plush and we were first to sleep on it 2 years ago and thought it was great when we last stayed there it was soooooooooooo uncomfortable but it gets used at least 2 nights a month.

Thanks guys. The futon sounds good. I remember sleeping on one of those a while back and it was very comfortable.
