help!! It's Bed time and I need some suggestions!!!

DD 6months has a runny nose, temp and id just grissly and grumpy. I know for a blocked noise i can use a vaporiser, fess etc... but how can i make it more comfortable for her with the opposite??? Apparently they don't make any porducts for kids that young anymore that can help to dry it all up????

    O poor DD. ( & Mummy)

When DS was sick last we did exactly what you have already mentioned and panadol.... but no doubt you have already done that. Is there a Vicks or something similar you can use for little ones that little? Maybe try giving the pharmasist a call and see what they say. You never know they may have some trick of the trade we don't know about??

    Good Luck..

When Em gets sick we use the vaporiser, the nose sucker, the vicks baby balsam and some panadol type stuff and it does help her settle, just keep an eye on her and be prepared for a broken night's sleep.

You can still get Dimetapp infant drops for the symptoms you have mentioned but you need a prescription. You used to be able to get it over the counter but in the US there were a lot of infant deaths which were attributed to it because of incorrect administration, so there has been a blanket ban on selling it OTC.

Other than that there is not much you can do

You could bring her to bed with you until she gets better. I remember doing that when Flynn was sick around that age.

I hope she gets better soon for both of your sakes.

Hope you managed to get some sleep last night.

When DD was that litle and had a cold, we'd let her sleep in her pram or bouncer, the elevation of the head meant her nasal mucous wasn't going into her throat and tasting gross, entering her tummy, or blocking her nasal breathing. She always slept much better. Perhaps try that tonight and see how you go.
