Ideas to remove pen from stained timber dining table?

My DD scribbled on our dining table a few months ago in blue pen. She's done it before and i've always managed to get it off but this time it won't budge.

I've tried normal spray & wipe type cleaners, eucalyptus oil and a jiff type creme cleaner but I was too scared to use much of that in case it took the stain off or scratched the timber surface.

    Any ideas???

Hair spray? I know it works, just don't know if it'll hurt the table.

If it's blue biro then I've had amazing success with Aeroguard, roll on or spray on doesn't matter. I discovered this once when I mistakenly got some on a vinyl bag and when I wiped it off some biro came off with it like magic.

Otherwize you might have to steel yourself and just sand the whole thing back and re-varnish.

Cool, lot of great ideas, will try a few out and let you know how I go!

Bath - it isn't that noticeable that I'd sand back and stain the whole table. I'd be more inclined to live with it for another year or two and then buy a new dining suite once the kids are past their distructive stage!
