Any clever ideas for a burnt kitchen bench?

Some months ago DH left a tea light burning on our kitchen bench and lo and behold, we now have a lovely round burn mark on the counter top. We are renting, so obviously replacing the whole counter-top is out of the question. The counter is like a grey-white marble pattern and is made of....um...i don't know, but standard kitchen counter stuff.

Any ideas???!!! I don't want to lose out whole bond for a tea light....

Hmmm.... so it's a laminate? I think your only hope is to kinda bleach the brown-ness out of it a bit.... we have cream laminate which occassionally get stained and the best product for this situation is Gumption (available at Coles in a yellow topped tub). It's amazing what that stuff can bleach out.... without bleaching the colour of the actual laminate.
