Is it possible? *Help please! I'm slightly freaking out*
I'm just wondering if it is possible that my 3rd is going to be my biggest baby born?
Reason I ask is because I have heard that 2nd babies with the same Dad are often bigger then the 1st..
My DD has a different Dad to my DS & "Boo"..
Baby #3 is the 2nd baby to my partner..
Sorry if I'm managed to do nothing but confuse everyone
I don't know if there is any specific evidence to definately say that is going to be the case. One of my gf second born was smaller than her first born - both over 9lds. Also my mil has 7 children and they were are varying weight/sizes. ie: The first born wasn't the smallest and the last born wasn't the biggest.
On average babies usually get bigger as you have more, but not always.
My DD1 was 7lb 5oz, my DD2 was 8lb 9oz & my DS was 8lb 7.5oz.
So my 3rd was slightly lighter than my first (all have the same dad, but I don't think that'd come into it too much)
It is likely that your 3rd will be a bit heavier, but it shouldn't be a problem
Hmmm. Well my third was my smallest - but it was also the first to DH.
1: 8lb 5oz
2: 9lb 4oz
3: 6lb
4: 8lb 4oz
5: 8lb 5oz
So yes to the seconds from same dad being bigger - but my third was far and away my smallest - althoough that may be meaningless as I suffered from HG the worst with my 3rd and even I lost weight hand over fist.
Ok, so really, I am not being any help at all. Sorry
A friend of mine has two boys to the same dad and the weight was almost indentical. I think the 2nd was slightly less but he was weighed after a poo and the first one was weighed before any poos.
My second looks to be bigger, at my scan it was measuring a week a head where as my dd measursed on time. But DD's head measured 2wks a head and this one's head was only the week a head. So it's hard to be sure yet as the scans were also done at different wks of preg.
Hun, it is possible that this baby will be bigger, but it is very unlikely to be too big for you to birth. Nature is cleverer than that! I had a pound in difference between my boys (and the second was the smaller one and they both have the same dad ), and TBH I really don't think there was a noticeable difference when I was birthing. I am sure you are going to be just fine - try not to worry hun
Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm going out of my mind with worry that I won't be able to get this little one out so that we will both be safe..
Never had any complications during birth with either DD or DS, but I'm thinking every worse possibility this time round..
My 12wk scan, certain parts of "Boo" were slightly smaller then 12wks & the same at my 20wk scan..
I've had mixed comments from various people, either I'm too small for how far Boo is, or I'm too big.. That doesn't help the situation or my thoughts..
I hope I can have another scan before Boo arrives & I''d love for the sonographer to guess Boo's birth weight..
Has anyone had a sonographer guess the weight & how accurate were they?
I had a friend having scans every fortnight to check on her twins progress & they were pretty right with their weights, but I've also seen alot of women on here who've had the scans completely wrong, so they definetely aren't reliable!
As someone has already said, its not very often at all that your body will make a baby you can't birth. Its not the way mother nature works. Obviously there are exceptions, but you've birthed 2 very healthy sized bubba's already without any complications, so there is no reason you can't birth a third.
There are quite a few babies born on here recently that were 10lb & more. I know someone whose DS was 13lb born & she birthed him vaginally.
Have faith in your body It does know what its doing!
That also makes me feel better alioops!
I'm hoping "Boo" won't get over the 10lb mark, but if that happens to be the case then ah well, as long as I don't tear!
hun you will be fine!! I had the docs telling me to get ready for a ceser but I was so adamant I would be FINE. Ash was 11 pounds, 39cm head.
You have to have faith in your body!! It is made to birth babies.
Don't ask them to guess! They were ALWAYS wrong with me. Jaidan was heavier then they guessed, Chase was heavier, Ashton was supposed to be a 9lbs baby, so they were a bit off on that one
