Investments....do you have one ???Do they make you feel uneasy ???

Okay, about 2 yrs ago DH and i invested a huge amount of $$ into something (not property) and we got a mighty good return from it last November by selling it o/s to another investor. Since then we've invested in 3 other 'things' - not going to give us as much of a return as the big one 2years ago, but 10-15k here or there.
Now last night, DH told me about another investment....its a bit of work for him, and initial costs are about 15k but he said we would prob double it when its finished. Theres also a property investment we're seriously thinking about with family members ATM (buying a block of land, building villas, selling).....i lost it last night, crying like a big baby, i feel like there's too many 'investment's going on. I need a new oven, i need a new kitchen for godsake but all our money is tide up in these investments. I want DH to STOP....just stop investing and think about what we've got. But he says 'babe, we cant let this opportunity go' etc etc....oh yes we can i feel like screaming....

Dont get me wrong, we've been very fortunate with our invesetments so far, we've taken bloody huge risks and it has paid off - so much so that we have a mortgage under 120k and i can stay at home with the girls....but it makes me feel sooo uneasy pouring money into investments....does it you ?????

My DH has been at me to get an investment property for a long time. The very thought of another mortgage freaks me out to no end.

We've had big fights about it because DH wants to make money, and lots of it, and I'm quite happy to just live and go with the flow. I have a nice house, nice car and a great lifestyle and so I'm not into making huge dollars. I would rather be living life NOW than paying off several mortgages so that I can have a life when I'm 50.

........htats me....youve just described me !!!! Im happy, im comfortable, but DH was brought up differently to me i think. He had saved $30k by time he was 25yrs old....i was still partying, paying off a car i couldnt afford and living with parents....

A crystal ball would be nice......

i think its normal to feel uneasy about having so many investments. perhaps you could have a chat with him and prioritise.... sometihing like after receiving a return, think about the house or whatever and spend some money wisely before preparing for the next investment..

we have no investments, so i have no idea about it at all... but thats just what came to mind when i read your post.

i wish my dp was financially clever... we're a mess when it comes to money!
