Umm, what to do, what to do...

O.K. well since by boy was 6 weeks old, I had a Mirena put in. Up until about 3 months ago, I had no problem with it. But in the last 3 months, I have been so fatigue, moody, bad headaches and body aches. My weight has also gone up, even though I eat very healthy and go to the gym at least twice a week.

Anyway so after I re-read the side effects of the Mirena, I'm pretty sure that's what's up with my body. I also have a very sore area on my left boob, that is a little lumpy, so I'm going to my GP on friday to get it looked into.

So I'm guessing she is going to recommend having the Mirena removed. Which brings me to my question, what next???? I hate the thought of the implants in the arm, eww at even the thought (shutters). So do I go back onto the pill? Does the husband get the snip (I really don't want this, incase we decide later on we want another child, even though I know it can be redone).

So does anyone know which contraceptive offers the less side effects. I know they are all different for everyone. But any info would be appreciated.

What about if we decided to go down the snip road, would not being on anything make my body even more crazy. It's been that long since I have been contraceptive free (I think since I was about 14), so 14 years.

What to do, what to do???

    Really anything would help...

    Thanks.

I had the implanon put in a few weeks ago.
I had big issues also with having something inserted in my arm, but the thought of having something put "up there" such as the mirena was even worse for me.
I was on the pill but it wasn't working for me, i needed something that I didn't need to remember to do anything with.
So I bit the bullet and had the rod implanted, it was fine and I think it's great so far, no side affects apart from some very minor spotting.
    Hope this helps.
