Question Confused...stimulus package (again) ATO Q

OK, I'm so confused & I'm sure you are all just as confused as me & will have no idea how to answer my question

I am going to be elegable(sp?) for the FTB school child pay out.
I think I am also entitled to the PPS/single income one somehow as well.

But I put in a tax return last year too, as I worked for about 6 months. So would I be entitled to that as well? I looked on the ATO web site & it had a calculator thing on there, so I tried it, but it said no due to my adjusted tax liability not being greater than zero, I won't get it.

So is this right or is that just for all the new tax cuts etc that were just introduced for this year???

Sorry, so lost! I do know I'm getting my c'link payment on the 20th, but didn't think to ask how much I was getting!

This is what I understand. I could be wrong, but I have just read the Clink website page on it.

If you get FTBA - You should get it. However I would actually call someone in the ATO to double check because an automated system often doesn't take some things into account.

The Payments won't be added to the 'future payments' list until a couple of days before they go in, because they need to be processed. On the 20th you should get the $900 PLUS your normal FTB, and if you are eligible for the school package that may also arrive then. Just my understanding, I could be wrong though.

So I will still only get 2 payments though, huh.

if you didn't have a tax liability in your name in 07/08 you won't qualify for that part of the payment

there is still uncertainty as to whether you qualify for both the ftbb payment and the tax one anyway...

adjusted tax liability not being greater than zero

All that means is that you MUST have owed and paid tax last year, NOT get all your tax back in a refund, or not paid tax at all.

Ok. I did pay tax last year. But I think I got all that I paid back.
    Starting to make sense now!
    Thanks

if you got back all that you paid, you've effectively not paid tax last year (they just like to earn interest on your dollars during the year!) so you won't qualify...

Bg- If you dont as yet claim any money from centrelink when will the payments be made to everyone else?? sorry if that is a silly question but I have no idea about this stuff.

I know I should just get the one payment for working last year and earning around $53000 (and being taxed a **** load!!)

the payments based on taxable income from last year will be administered by ATO during April - if you have bank details on their system, they'll pay it that way, otherwise a cheque to your address (or via your accountant if you have one that handles all your ato correspondence)

Alibaby I read this on the ato
Your payment will not be used to offset any of your other tax debts.
