Advise please!! Boy or Girl??

Hi im 21 weeks pregnant and think im having a boy.. this is our first bub so doesnt matter what sex so we decided to wait till the birth but secretly id love to know.. but that would mean hubby would know.. so i said id wait...

so bubs heart rate at 20 weeks was 146.. dont have 12 weeks heart rate coz we just moved and they are still packed..

also ive been craving milk!!! have been completely turned off meat.. and dont mind sweets..


my body hasnt changed much other than gaining a belly.. oh and boobs.. but other than that ive maintained a normal body also im not showing much.. at 18 weeks my uterus was measuring at 18cm and apparently the average is 20cm.

you cant tell by all the external things they are mostly old wives tales..
you will find out at the most in 22 weeks

Sorry hon, I have to agree with doudou - they're really just old wives tales. Bugger hey! My sister carried differently with both her boys (one was spread out, the other was a basket ball) and the pregnancies were quite different too and yep, she had two boys.

My latest pregnancy mag has an article about the myths around pregnancy and it said the only sure way to find out the sex (before the birth!) is through CVS or Amniocentisis tests. The 18-20 week scans are very reliable but even they aren't fool proof.

I found out through my amnio.

I wouldn't trust a scan......... with anything except for telling you there's a baby in there.

Hi, my first pregnancy & my 2nd have been almost identical except for the morning sickness. My first I had a little girl and I'm expecting a son in July. I had severe sickness with my first the whole pregnancy and this time it has eased at 20 weeks. Apart from that everything else is the same so I don't think you can tell based on heartbeats and weight gain. With my first I didn't show until I was 7 months and I haven't gained much weight this time either. I craved milk with my first from Week 5 and morning sickness affects everyone differently based on your hormones. If you really want to know you can pay to have a private scan done without hubby.

HI there thank you soo much for your spin on things.. i understand that u can only tell via a scan or amneotesis.. if i get a private scan done im afraid that i may end up spilling to my hubby so i dont want to go down that track..

i had no morning sickness at all with this pregnancy but cud only eat salads being summer in the first trimester and couldnt bring myself to eat meat.. and still cant!

who knows what im having but it is still fun to think is it a boy or a girl.. by hubby has all boys in his family so as much as a boy would be lovely a girl would be a surprise.. first baby it doesnt matter but as i said its still nice to wonder..
