    Maternity Immunisation Allowance

I received a letter in the post this week from the GP about the changes to the immunisation allowance and if Matthew doesn`t get his 4 year vac within 1 month of turning 4 we`ll be no longer entitled to the immunisation payment.

I didn`t understand the letter as I thought the immunisation payment was a once off at 18 months? Or do we get an extra payment at 4?

i just read about this on here somewhere yesterday, apparantly the rules have changed and you dont get it at all at 18months now, you wait til 4years.

Hmm I thought it was a one off payment too? Maybe they make you pay it back?? I would ring to clarify

I filled out an exemption form for Ari as we are not vax and have had 3 people ring since to ask why she is "late" with her vax. Obviously the system is working well

rules changed (can't remember if it was from 010109 or 010708) but basically it's now being split into two installments - i don't think the system is smart enough to have been able to decipher between those who have already received full payment (as you would have done when he was 18months-2years) and those that will fall under the new rulings - so many letters are auto generated! maybe call and check (and yes, i'm advising to call cos i don't know for sure - not often i suggest calling but i don't want to misadvise you!)
