Question How do I get rid of this fishy smell?

After having a chat with the local pharmacist, I decided to try DS on a Omega 3 supplement. It's one of those burstable capsules that they eat. They smell fruity and DS has no objection to them. No worries I thought... except when it came time for me to wash the next bucket load of nappies. They STINK to high hell of fish oil!!! DS does poos on the potty, so it must be coming out in his urine.

I washed them in a hot wash and they still came out smelling terrible. So, I put the inserts in some soaker over-night in an attempt to "soak out the smell" and then did a strip wash, but they still smell. Do you think I've ruined my nappy stash?

I really like the idea of DS having a supplement, but I can't put up with the fishy smell.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Does anyone have ANY suggestions how I can get rid of the smell?

    TIA!!!

Oh wow I have no idea on that one

Have you tried eucalyptus or lavender oil in the wash? A drop of two might help.

Raven - DH is washing a load now... I'll go add a couple drops of lavender and see how it goes.

PB - Bi carb should be okay, but would the vinegar stuff up the PUL or elastic in the nappies?

I think it would stuff up the PUL and elastic if used all the time. If its just a once off it should be ok.
