    VBAC Classes in Brisbane??

    Hi ladies!

I have had contact from a women who is 22 weeks pregnant and wanting to try for a VBAC.

She is interested in attending some VBAC classes.

Does anyone know if there are any currently running in the Brisbane area???

I have plenty of information myself on VBAC but I think the benefit of VBAC classes are emmense.

    Hi Sara

I really, really recommend that she get along to the Birthtalk classes.
Birthtalk: support, education & celebration of birth I've been along to these, and they are fantastic. Debby and Melissa really know their stuff and they're helping so many women. She can join in at anytime.

Otherwise there is a doula I know in Brisbane who has had a vbac and is running a VBAC preparation/support group. Let me know if you want her details and I'll put you in touch.

Thanks so much to both of you!

Tina - I noticed on the birthtalks website that the course has already started this year. But you mention that women/families can join in anytime, is that right??

Yep she can go along anytime.
Even their regular antenatal course is good - it's not your traditional antenatal course - focuses on how our hormones work in labour, the role of support people, what goes on in hospitals and how to negotiate etc (Debby is a midwife who has worked in hospitals - it's really good for families to hear that decisions aren't always about their best interests from someone with credibility because she's worked in it ...all relevant for women having a vbac

I would try the Childbirth Education Association website, click on education services ( 2nd on th left) and VBAC is the third option. I have been looking at doing this myself. Good luck

Can I just go slightly off topic here and ask Tobily a question?

Do they have much information in their classes about VBA2C at all?

Not off topic at all Arimeh. I'd be interested to know myself.

The Gentle Birth of Leo is a great read about a succesful VBA2C.
