    JET payments

    having just gone back to uni a few people are talking about the jet payments..
    whats the eligibility requirments for them??
    i cant find it on the CL www

    Ummmmm *racks brains, I think you have to be single to be on the program, I think its aimed at getting mums retrained for work. Or at least rec PP...or something...jeez Im not much help....

    (unless i kick him to the kerb which is a possibility today)

    In my experience at work - you have to be on a single parent benefit to get the JET payment...

    My friend at uni is married and is eligible for JET. If you search for JET in the search keywords section of centrelink website it brings up a list of things about jet, also the first bit of info in the search gives you a link to the Office of Early Childhood Education & Child Care website, with a section on JET and a fact sheet that is available.

    you have to be on an income support payment long term and using child care while working or studying at least 15 hours per week

    it's paid for a limited time to help you get established...

    i only get ftb a and b so not income support...
    oh well
