hello everyone, we are going to be ttc early next year and today I am starting to chart my cycle as far as ovulation goes. I have been having some weird cycle dates happening over the past 5 months so now that I know I am full of health and have been given the all clear by the doctors after numerous tests I am on my way! (what a trip it has been!) I am 34 years old and i have noticed my body is changing so I really need to start keeping check on all things associated with my female organs
I guess my first statement is, the ticker factory is overwhelming! I cant get my head around it! I would like to put a ticker in here but i dont know how to do that as well as Im not sure if I can if im not a paying member! so any help would be appreciated!
I have just started taking my temp today for the purpose of charting! I guess im just overwhelmed by it all, I really thought I wouldnt have to have the drama of all of this but I guess thats life hey! any support would be appreciated and I hope that I can throw some back your way!
when your temping its important to know what cycle day (CD) it is as it isnt the temps that are important but the pattern they make from CD1 (first day of AF) to the next AF.
Check out Fertility First, they have a great tutorial on how and why to chart
hey there Leasha Yes, I read up on that some time ago about AF and temps patterns. I almost feel like its a little early to start but given the way my body has been lately I thought it wise to get into it, and we live some way away from the clinic so I want to be fully prepared with the correct info when we have our first visit to the clinic. I contacted them and they said they would organise for us to have the majority of our appointments on the same day so we wouldnt have to be travelling back n forth. I was going to be setting up private health insurance as well but the doctor said there was really no point until after the birth because we cant actually use it where we live unless I wanted a holiday at a private hospital after the birth! I said why would I and she said, well if you had 3 other children you may just need it! Of course I dont, so in my case theres no point! Gosh I hope you followed my brain then. I feel so scattered this morning.
I noticed that my ticker is automatically updating which is good. So anyway, any advice would be great, especially about about the donor experience. Im a little nervous I guess, times ticking away and 2010 will be here before we know it! I just want our new house to be built and the reno's on our current house to be finalised or be to a point where we can plod with it and then of course theres the worry about the economy and my job blahblah, im sure im not the only one thinking of these things. If youre either ttc now or about to take the plunge with the thought going round in your head about, what if im on maternity leave and I get retrenched, what if what if. Anyway, as you can see im scattered and nervous. Am I the only one with these worries? or am I just a worry wart?
It's a good idea to start charting before TTCing so you know where you are at. It's also a handy tool to use when you have conceived. On two of my cycles while I was temping I suspected I was pregnant because of temperature dips & sure enough both times I was.... & I'd suspected several days before any symptoms started & before it woudl've been possible to get a positive HPT.
Try not to worry about the "what ifs". Life is full of those & you seriously cannot predict the future. I'm in a completely different place to where I thought I'd be 2 years ago.... you just never know what the future holds.
i am glad i am not the only trying to get their head around charting their cycle. i have not started as yet, so i commend you for starting. i am still trying to work out how to do a decent signature...
hello Rubibaby, lol looks like you worked out your signature!! as for the ticker, although i have a nice length of pansies im still trying to work out the rest! I completely missed my O day!! and im driving DP nutty lol
Well I am glad to find this thread. We will be TTC in a few months probably early July. I was reading a good book about fertility and followed guidelines for observing CM to indicate ovulation. I never did the temps as of yet. Well just observing the CM caused me to get pregnant which was great but unfortunately we lossed that on as it was ectopic. So after about a 5 month rest from TTC we will be ready again. This time I will be trying the temp thing for charting my sycles. I to thought I would start a few months in advance to get the hang of it. So I am glad I will have somewhere to ask questions. Just need to get my next AF to start chart I guess.
