DS was about 4 mnths, but she didn't return regularly. I think the first few times was every month and the it was every 6 weeks for awhile, seems to have settled back to every month now.
This can vary greatly. For most women who are exclusively bfing, it won't be until after solids are introduced at 6 months, and can be even years after! However, if you use formula or introduce solids before 6 months, or have a baby who does not feed during the night, then it is most likely to be sooner.
How annoying for you feeb! The same thing happened to me with DS2 - he fed during the night until 12 months, but AF came back after 6 months. With DS1 who didn't feed during the night after 6 weeks it came back after 7 months!
firs dd 9.5 months full bf till 5 months then half bf and half formula (i expressed till 5 months but could not keep up hence formula, went back to study part time when she was 10 weeks)
second dd 9 months fully bf till 16 months day and night
Stopped feeding voernight 2 weeks ago, but DD has been sick with Croup and feeding 3 times a night for the last week, so not sure what is going to happen!!
