Anyone have success with settling older baby in hammock?

We have a hamock coming for DS (4mths).
Has anyone else transfered a baby older than 3 mths into a hammock and did it help with sleep/settling issues?

We had our hammock from birth so I really can't offer advice on transferring at that age. DD LOVED it though till around 7months.

Just wanted to say "GO the hammock" and bump a bit for you.

    Good luck.

did you just start using it insted of bassinet or did you slowly introduce it?
And can I ask you why you swapped to a hammock at 4 mths?

    Hi Salsa,
we just introduced it straight away, it was not a problem for her. The reason we did this at 4 months is because she was taking a long time to settle in her bassinette ( we would rock her etc) and was not sleeping very well during the day. Also, it took me a while to convince DH that we needed yet another expensive baby item
I think they are great and will use it from day one for any other babies we have. HTH

Hi Salsa, I tried a hammock with DD at 3 months. The first time she loved it and slept for about 3 hours (during the day), but then decided she hated it and would cry as soon as I put her in it.

The only thing that helped my bub was gently teaching self settling. Sorry.

I REALLY hope it works for you though. I know you've had troubles with bub and sleep. Fingers crossed!
