    Pickle/curry stain

DH's family is anglo indian and cook a lot of indian food. One of the things they often make is something they call mango pickle (or other types of pickle...) which to me looks like an oily curry type paste.

Poor DH managed to drop some on one of his tshirts last weekend and as soon as he did it everyone was like "oh, that tshirt is going to the graveyard now", "there's no hope for that stain" etc etc. Apparently they were all convinced that there is no way to remove this stain from the tshirt no matter how quickly you act.

He's tried washing it normally after using preen oxyaction on it. The stain was still there.

Then he tried soaking it in napisan and then washing it. The stain is still there.

I'm not willing to give up hope though and thought you girls might have an idea?!

I think Hydrogen Peroxide can be used to get rid of stains on clothes.

Here you go I found this...

Lift Curry Stains From Washable Fabrics

Step1 Mix a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water for color-fast items of clothing that cannot be bleached. If your hydrogen peroxide is 20 percent volume (which is standard strength), you'll need to combine the two in an approximate ratio of 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 9 parts water, or a 10 percent proportion of hydrogen peroxide.

Step2 Soak the item in the hydrogen peroxide solution, letting it sit for at least a few hours.

Step3 Rinse the item of clothing thoroughly in warm, clean water, then wash it as you normally would. Make sure you follow all of the care directions on the clothing label to the letter.

Step4 Use a biodegradable laundry powder that contains bleach, if the item is bleachable. Simply wash the item in the bleach detergent in your washing machine as soon as possible after you've stained it.

Have you hung it outside overnight.
I used to do that to DH's cricket pants to get out some stains. Wait until you know the next day is going to have a bit of sun the hand overnight.
Looked in my "magic" book & here is what it says........
    1. Curry: borax or glycerine.
Remove deposit. Rub with either solution. Rinse & blot.

    2. Curry: glycerine solution, ammonia or enzyme detergent solution, bleach (optional)
Remove deopist and soften stain with glycerine. Use sponging or soaking technique above to apply either solution, then bleach in necessary and safe to do so.

Hope these help. Another page said dry-cleaning.
