    Question UTI in preppy

I think DS has an UTI. He is 6.
I dont think its too bad at the moment so I am hoping lots of water will flush it out.
    Any other suggestions?

I know my oldest DS had a slight infected foreskin when he was a bit younger, the Dr said that it could be from a bit of dirt or sand from the sandpit ect, got in and didn't get washed properly. Maybe just check his foreskin (if not circed) and see if it is red. If it is or even if it isn't, maybe just head off to the Drs and then see what they have to say.

Aww, poor little fella!! I've always been prone to UTIs myself, have had them regularly ever since childhood, so I know what he's going through! Pop into the chemist and grab a pack of Ural sachets, when you're that age you'll ignore the foul taste because it's fizzy, and therefore fun
If you can get him to, also give cranberry juice a try - obviously make sure it's actual juice and not the cranberry-flavoured sugar in water that a lot of brands come out with... I think that Ocean Spray or whatever it's called brand is the one I used to drink?

Definitely keep up with as much water as his little belly can stomach, but I know in my case I always needed an extra little boost to neutralise the infection, and Ural and cranberry juice always worked a charm. Good luck!!

I was just going to suggest the ocean spray cran juice too, Gothmum!
I have a glass every morning and night (besides water that's all I drink!) as I'm prone to thrush and apparently that and UTI can sometimes go hand in hand cos of the whole bacteria thing.
It's great as a prevention, apparently it makes the walls of your urethra and bladder all slimey so no nasties can cling to it.
If it's to strong for him you can dilute it a little with some water too. Poor bugger, hope he's ok soon! xx

my son had heaps when he started school as well
its a novelity of the urinal thingy, not empyting properly as they are in a rush to go out and play, and not drinking enough water at school
defintaley cranberry juice, some Yakult and some ural will help!!!
my DS had 8 of them at the start of prep- but he also has a medical condtion that makes him prone to them as well!!! We had only had a couple of them before starting school!

    take care hun
