I wish I knew, I hate the little (or big) suckers!!
OK folks I have a confession to make. We have bugs. Lots of bugs. They are everywhere. I won't go into details but They. Are. Everywhere. And they are driving me completely nuts!!!! What is the best way to get rid of ****roaches??? We did roach bombs a while ago (it may have been as long as six months ago) but now they are coming back with a vengeance. TBH that's my experience with roach bombs - they work for a while then the bugs come back worse than before. So please, please PLEASE o wise women of BB - tell me the best, most effective and long-term way to get rid of ****roaches!
I wish I knew, I hate the little (or big) suckers!!
I buy the ****roach baits and put them in the kitchen, bathroom and hallway cupboards. I usually forget to replace them regularly, but I soon know because I start seeing the ****roaches again. I think the last pack I bought were the ones were they take the bad stuff back to the nest?
Our dishwsher doesn't get used either, so I throw one in there sometimes as well.
When we moved into our last house, we suddenly got an infestation of what turned out to be german ****roaches... they love warmth & water so try to keep those things away from any ****roaches. The only thing that got rid of ours was an exterminator... and that was after they'd destroyed my printer.
All the best hun... I hope you work something out![]()
It depends where you live LOL! When we were in Homebush in NSW they were so bad we actually brought them with us to Melb. We had to throw out electrical appliances as they were living in them. We bombed we did everything it was DISGUSTING. But since being here in the SE subs the only roaches we get are the brown bush ones, and bombs do the trick. I swear to go NSW roaches are mutant. In WA they just it protein bars as they are huge, and here they are rather pathetic, although somewhat more alien like because they are the bush roaches.
ETA: German roaches... are they the small ones by any chance?! They were the ones we brought from sydney in our electrical appliances.
Cai - yes we are in sydney with the evil german roaches!!!!!
The nasty buggers killed my first coffee machineThey laid eggs in the water chamber and it was awful. Good thing back then I never made coffee and I discovered it before I used it. It was binned
Looks like you might have to get some pest control...
we get the big flying ones, apparently they arent after dirt or food just the warmth, we get the mortein lure n kill surface spray, and spray it around the perimeters of the house. it smells gross (like strong orange oil) but it seems to work a treat, you find the buggers dead about 10cm from whereever youve sprayed...ive also suggestd this stuff to other BB girls and its worked for them.
alot cheaper than pest control anyway!!! GL
Niliac - Yep, german ****roaches are those little ones... they start of black and then turn brown as they get mature... usually they have their eggs hanging out behind them (gross!)
I was so glad when we got rid of them...apparently they've been known to kill TV's, Washing machines & refrigerators too! I wanted them gone before anything like that happened.
oh no pixie when we came back from nz we had them move in and we had to wash EVERYTHING!! We just bought some surface spray the good kind but in orange smelling type as i get asthma due to smell and its worked a treat it was funny seeing them dead in the morning and now nothing its FANTASTIC. I hate going on holidays and coming back to that. I think i should smarten up and spray before i go lol.
I actually heard once that if you spray them with something, they lay their eggs just as they are dying & the eggs are immune to whatever you sprayed them with. So eventually they are mutants that just won't die!
We have them ATM too & I'm using the egg stopper spray stuff. It kills the eggs too, so I'm hoping that works.
We are on the coast & have always had problems with them here, but when we lived out west for 4 years, we never had one.
It also depends on your house & the way its built. Ours has garage & storage underneath, then behind the storage room, there's another door that goes under the house, & coz there's all that space, thats where they come from or something. Coz the house is off the ground, but its all closed in under IYKWIM?
Mum & Dad lived in this house & had the same probs, when they moved into a house level on the ground, all was solved. We will be moving in a few weeks & I'm praying the same goes for us!
bjrose i think u need to buy the spray that kills eggs too but i dont know about these German things sorry
We live in an apartment so they can kind of mooch into someone else's flat.... squiddy what kind of spray did you use? Lisa I think I am going to look at exterminators.... they are sooo driving me nuts!
We were told a similiar thing with Redbacks when we had the place sprayed for them. The chemicals kill the actual Redback, but not the eggs, which don't hatch till it's safe and then you have an infestation of the buggers again! We were told to book a follow up appointment a few months later to get any eggs that would hatch after the pest man had been.
firstly depending on whom u use to spray ya home they will garentee their work and come back out if needed to re spray. I did this before in my old property i rented as for the spray we used that we have had GREAT results with its....mortein high performance surface spray ****roach killer with egg kill
lures n kills ****roaches for up to 6 months cost about 8 dollars and i think thats great im happy ... just spraying my skirting and opening ways also NO GECKO'S now and we used to get up to 10-15 daily so yay![]()
