Question -
when we were TTC (before this m/c), I had two "unusual" AF's. I did discuss them with my dr, and did ask if it was possible that I had a very early spontaneous m/c (some people call it "chemical pregnancy"). He thought perhaps, but didn't seem overly concerned.
However, I had told a friend about recent m/c, and we were talking about our efforts TTC, and I had told her about those two cycles, and she said that it definatley sounds like they were m/c.
I am OK with those I guess, not distressed at their loss like I am with this one for instance, but I probably am now wondering if perhaps I should be concerned (in terms of future TTC efforts).
Thoughts anyone???
It is thought that during a womans reproductive life that she will have numerous very early losses - sometimes called "chemical pregnancies" - thus named as they show up chemically through a test but disappear soon after. These are thught to be due to issues just not compatible with life...
It has been only since the advent of early pregnancy tests that we are more aware of this - and thus the painful feeling of what may have been...
It is very true that some women have very early losses due to luteal phase defects and other causes... So subsequent and frequent early losses will be investigated. Chemical pregnancies typically are lost prior to or around 6 weeks or earlier.
The truth is you don't know about those "odd" periods that you had. In our cycles they are not always the same - so it could of been for other reasons not necessarily an early loss. If they were an early loss - it isn't out of the ordinary for this to happen as I said over the course of our reproductive life...
If it were me I would put it down to "we don't know"
I wish so much for a happy healthy pregnancy very soon for you my love...
