Question Carpet cleaning when moving .... DIY or Hire a Professional

We're moving in a week or two and we have 3 rooms worth of carpet that needs to be steam cleaned.

Do we need to hire a professional or can we hire the cleaner from Coles?

If the house is through a real estate I am pretty sure that you have to have it professionally cleaned.

Check with your agent. When ever I have rented I have always had to use a professional cleaner and then give the receipt to the agent when handing back my keys.

We have always had to provide receipts to prove it was professionally cleaned, so I am pretty sure that, unless you have a carpet cleaning business, you can't do it yourself.

better to get a professional to do it. that way if it isnt to the RE standard they can get them back to redo it.

yep, u need to show a reciept that it was done proffessionally when you go and take ur keys back or they will just take the money out of your bond and do it again.. thus really charging u twice for the carpet cleaning.

Always used a professional myself - that way if it wasnt "good enough", they had another number to call that wasnt mine!

Professional - it is usually a standard clause in your rental agreement if you read it thoroughly.
If you have it done and get a receipt if they have any issues with it, they have to take it up wth the company and cant take your bond.
DIY and they have issues and they will get it done and take all the costs from your bond.
