    Inspection Reports

Does the real estate have to provide me with a copy of the inspection report they fill out??

I have another inspection tomorrow and i've never been given a copy of the report. Each time i have had RE note the repairs that need to be done. RE is passing this information onto owner yet owner not doing anything about it.

Would like a copy of these so i have proof that i have informed of such repairs.

    TIA

Hi Crazymum, long time no see (so to speak.....)

We have always been given a copy of the report and Im pretty sure you can request one. Otherwise you can call consumer affairs and they can answer any questions regarding renting.

    Hope you are well.

Sometimes we were, sometimes we weren't. It seemed to depend which real estate we were dealing with (we've been renting for awhile). Not sure whether they have to, but I'm sure you could request one.

Yes you ARE entitled to a copy of the report.... and speaking from experience make sure you request it and if they don't get it too you in a period of time make sure you follow it up.

We had a similar issue with our RE now, now of our requests for repairs that were suposdly (sp) noted in the inspection reports were actually getting to the owner and when i pushed for copies of them ... nothing was noted in the report that was sent to the owner. Hence... we are now having to move out of an unsafe house as the owner will need to repair stuff and relay carpet etc.
