If you dampen a tea towel and then iron over it it should raise the carpet back up, but if wont get it completely out, the rest will happen over time
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has any tips for getting rid of the marks left by long term furniture? We recently removed a queen size bed from our spare room, only to be left with horrible indentations where the bed legs were. DH seems to think they will disappear with time, but i'm not so sure. Any help would be much appreciated![]()

Ice according to MarthaYou put some ice on it till it melts, then blot it dry. It should come back to normal (I saw her do it on her show).
I was gonna say what Cai said!!!
I was gonna say what Trillian siad!
Maybe if you melt the ice on the spot, put a tea towel over it and then iron it with a dry iron, you'll combine the best of both strategies and it will work?
Thanks girlsSeeing as there are 4 indentations, I will try both methods out first on 2 of them, and see which one works better on my carpet.
it works, cos it really annoys me every time I walk past...hehe!

Be careful with the iron as some synthetic fibres can melt easily... (thats what Martha said anyway LOL)
Oh thanks for the heads up. I'm pretty useless with an iron at the best of timesI'm pretty sure our carpet is 100% wool though (we got new carpet LY). And where would we be without good 'ole Martha

If the above fails, steam-cleaning the carpet will remove the indentations.
