How long does it take??

Hi All!

I'm just new to the site and have a question about Centrelink.

Basically I had bub #2 5 weeks ago tomorrow and was just wondering how long it takes for them to add bub onto my centrelink payments??

It's all rather confusing for me and am a little worried about having to live off one pay. You see, at the time of adding bub on we also updated my hubby's yearly income. His work has been very unpredictable so we have only been able to give them a rough estimation but realised just recently he's JUST gone over what we put down for him. We fixed it up first though and got told i'd get pretty much nothing to make sure I don't get overpaid...which is right...i get $20. Expected that to happen but then the lady went on to say it was for my first child and she's yet to add on the second and i'll get back paid etc. but I'm still waiting. Two weeks after doing it all my baby bonus instalments started which led me to think ...that's it! I get $20 for both the boys then because that's all gone through.

So how long did it take for them to add on your second child??
I'm thinking that we're living off one pay for awhile but am still in hope LOL.

If you can get a chance, maybe call centrelink and just say you want to make sure everything has been updated?

given your baby bonus is paying, your FTB is as well - so the adjustments being made to couteract any potential over payment at the start of the year have reduced your FTB to that $20 amount.

Congratulations on your baby, i would call centerlink asap and sort this out for good if i was you.
