Is my body practising and taunting me or is this real? (tmi)

    Last night:

    - Awake a lot with cramping and back pain

    - Very tired now as a result

    Today:

    - Vomited 4 times in 1.5 hours. Violent, acidic, exhausting. Have made myself a piece of toast with honey but so far haven't made it past 2 nibbles.

    - The "runs".

    - Lots of tightening. On the edge of uncomfortable and painful. Not agonising though.

    - I can feel the tightening up high...there is not a whole lot of cramping down low.

I have no idea what my body is doing. Honestly I don't. So confusing! :-)

Only it knows what it's doing and it's not doing a very good job at keeping my informed!

Still feeling nauseated but not as much now. I am in denial. Two weeks to go and until I get some strong evidence, I am convinced that this was just a tummy bug!

Lol, tummy bug maybe, but my guess is the start of labour...

Sounds almost exactly the same as the start of my first labour, (besides the vomiting) but everything else was too a tee, that started on saturday, i had her on the monday

given all the BP issues you've had, call your middies and get their advice. if it's a bug, you don't want to end up dehydrated. if it's labour, they'll help you to monitor it

Could be a tummy bug, or it could be pre-labour. Either way, I'd try to get some rest, Amanda. Sounds like you had a really crap night last night, so try to take it easy as much as you can and conserve your energy.
Like BG said, you don't want to get dehydrated, so have lots of sips of water or diluted juice.
Hope it's labour and not gastro!!!

Sounds like pre-labour to me - my first labour was like that - started early Friday morning and DD was born on Tues night.

It could be gastro but sounds more like pre-labour. If your body is ready to go gastro could also trigger labour (having the runs can cause your uterus to start contracting).

Just keep an eye on your temp . . . if you start to get a fever or anything go and get checked out by your health care provider. Try and keep up your fluids and keep track of whether you think you are keeping them down. If you seem to be bringing up all fluids, then you need to also call your health care provider.

Try and get some rest . . . if this is it, rest can only help. Good luck

    thanks ladies.

I feel like such a dumb first timer!

I have managed to keep the piece of toast down (so far) but thought that I had a good excuse not to eat the crusts today! :-P
