Question How do you teach to self settle?

DS is a good sleeper at night (well normally but the last week has been a bit off)
but will not sleep during the day unless I feed to sleep and won't sleep for more than 30 mins .... you can pretty much set your watch to him....

I am more than happy to feed to sleep at the moment but I know I won't want to do it forever and everyone keeps telling me that I am "spoiling" him and making a rod for my own back by doing it this way and I'll never get him out of the habit blah blah blah....

DS and I co-sleep so putting him in a bassinette is a pointless exercise and I hate walking out of the room and letting him cry like the MCHN told me too - he won't go to sleep he'll just wind himself up until he's inconsolable....

Soooo... I am putting it out there to you lovely and knowledgeable ladies....How do you teach to self settle?

    TIA

LaDeeDa, I just posted on your other thread in the babies and toddler section.

I don't want to replicate here because its not really a no-cry solution...
