being my first bub/first time on centrelink i've been reading up on various payments and does anyone know about the family tax supplements?
from what i've read it's about a grand altogether, and if you don't do a tax return you need to ring the family assistance office, but i've asked my friends, whos on the same payments as me (for longer though), and she hadn't hear of it, she's probably not the most finacial savvy girl in the world though!
i (and she) get full ftb a&b so would we be entitled to it?
lol thanks if anyone can help me make sense of this!
if you're a single parent and receiving parenting payment single (at a guess based on your sig) you will automatically get the payments sometime late july or august. you don't need to do anything.
if your son was born in the current financial year, you wont get the full amount as you'll only get paid the supplement for the days you've had him
there is another thread in the Centrelink section titled something like "$600 per child payment" - its long but has all the info in there (sorry - too tired to go into all the details again - have put really detailed answers in that one though!)
