Oh I so want to do this too! I feel like I've got a decade old hairstyle and want a short style.

Question for those who have done it - I have super thick hair - will I need much product to keep it tame if it's short?

It depends on how short you go. My hair is really thick too and when it is half grown out - so maybe 2-3 inches long, I do need a lot of product to keep it how I like it, but I only go out in public twice a week so the rest of the time I just pin it back. But with the length it is now - about 1 inch long, I don't need much product at all really.
