Electric lady shavers?

Just wondering if we have any ladies in our midst who use electric razors of the lady variety?

Apparently you shouldn't shave when you're having chemo (electric shavers are ok because they don't tend to nick the skin), but I don't really want to be a hairy yeti so I'm thinking of splashing out on a lady shaver. That's if it all doesn't fall out first .

I have been looking at a Remington model priced around $100 which has gold foils (supposed to be better for sensitive skin?), fully wet&dry, rechargeable, also comes with a bikini-line trimmer (ie a whipper snipper as DH would say LOL).

Just wondering how you find using an electric shaver generally...is it gentle on your skin? Does it take long? Do you use yours in the shower or dry? Why? Also what razor do you have and what do you like/dislike about it?

I used to have a remington one and loved it. Always used it dry. I also liked the fact that it didn't need to be connected to power to use, unlike my current one.

I now have an epilady, but still generally just use the razor on it (the plucking hurt too much, LOL)..

I find them really good on my skin, and eczema really comes to head for me if I shave with a razor in the bath.. IT doesn't take any longer to use than the old fashioned way..

And I have never had a nick/scratch while using an electric razor.

I have a remington wet/dry with gold foils, but haven't used it in years! The only reason I stopped using it was because one of the foils had a little piece missing and it was starting to nick me every now and then, but apart from that it was great! Nice and gentle, no probs at all. Didn't take long to shave, just popped it back on the charger after a couple of uses so it didn't get too flat.
I never used it wet, so can't comment on that.
I loved the fact that when I saw a few stray hairs, I could just grab the shaver out and use it while standing in the bathroom without having to get some sort of soap/gel.
I did find a website that had the replacement foil/cutter, but have never ordered it, was always one of those things I would do one day...might have to go and chase it down and start using it again.

Great feedback ladies. How long do you go between shaves?

Now I'm wondering tho - if they are so handy, how come more ppl don't use them?

I go anywhere from 4-7 days before they become noticable, and I don't care till at least 7 days now that I am pg and chasing a toddler

Umm for me, it took ages to get one cause I always spent my money on other things. When I was young, it was much more affordable to buy disposable razors than spend $100 on something like that.. MY DH actually gave it to me as a gift when we were just 'seeing' each other..
