DIY eyebrow threading - anyone done it?

Hey guys,

I used the get my eyebrows threaded, but then the place I went to went out of business, so I haven't done it in ages, and went back to plucking. Anyway, I was on ebay and came across these plastic bits you hold with cotton wound through them, so you can do the treading without being an octopus (item no 120955278914). I also saw an electronic device that did the same thing (item no 130703709337). Just wondering if anyone has tried something like this, and does it work?

I couldn't get the hang of threading, but in all fairness I did only try once. You don't need to buy anything, you can just use any old cotton thread. Look it up on YouTube, there's tutorials on there.
