Help me please.. I am so out of touch with the fashion world... seems like so long ago that I wore real peoples clothes, and I have honestly not looked as any fashion magazines or trends while I was pregnant, cause I couldn't wear anything so chose to let the small interest I had in fashion go by the wayside...
Anyway, I have a wedding to attend in October (in Canberra). It is an evening wedding, so I assume being in Canberra it will be quite chilly...
So what do I wear, so I can also feed my DS while I am there, without having to get totally undressed. I have a dress I could wear, but It is a sort of 50's style shift dress, so would require me virtually taking it all off to feed, and I cant imagine there will be a feeding room at the reception venue...
hmm that is a hard one
a ****tail wedding will be formal attire i guess
maybe could get away with a easy to access top under a geogous jacket- or even use a shawl for effect that can double as a cammoflarge when you are feeding.
can you ring and speak to the venue to see if there are feeding faciliities or there is somewhere you can go to be discreet- that may help you decide how much you need to keep covered or you can just let it all hang out-lol
goodluck and enjoy!
Sounds like you're going to need a shirt & skirt or something similar for easy access. Is it a ****tail reception? A nice a-line skirt, or something similar would be great. As for the top, you'll definitely be able to find something nice, and appropriate for b/f, but you'll need to shop around.
Hey Ruf! I'm going to a wedding too next month and was having the same dilemma, but I've decided I'm going to wear a dress I already have - it is a crinkly flowy material, comes down to my calves and has a satin sash around the waist....it has a low v-neckline so I can just push one side away to feed DS. I will use my breastfeeding shawl around my shoulders to be really discreet.
I had the same drama last year (a few times!) - I found 2 gorgeous (& cheap!) dresses that had a bit of stretch to them - one I just pulled down at the front, and the other was a loose & low v neck so I could just push a side away to feed
A wrap/shawl is always a good accessory to feed with and keep warm!!
