DH put a heart in mine once. I thought it was hilarious, but it was time consuming lol. I now prefer to just keep the front trimmed and he can get rid of the rest for me (so much easier having someone else do it, I had a go once and it was a mess :rofl:).:
Ive always been one of those... grown women have hair... people..... and until recently I have only ever shaved my bikini line, tried the all off a month ago or so, and it wasn't bad, I can see why people feel cleaner, but I felt a bit 'unprotected' :lol:
DH wasn't that fussed anyway! But if he was I might do it occasionally as a 'present' but when it grows back its a bit itchy (although that wasn't as bad as I thought!) so I wouldn't do it all the time. I do believe that in a relationship you sometimes do 'things' that are not your favourite thing, but your partner likes them so you do it. BUT you should never feel pressured or forced to do things you rally don't want to either.
I don't think it's the norm, no. I don't think most women go hairless there.
I think the side conversation about your dh watching too much porn or wanting you to look prepubescent is a bit beside the point. If saying all women do it is his argument for you doing it too, then sorry he's wrong.
But if he would like you to do it, then it's up to you whether you do or do not. Everyone has preferences as to how their significant partner looks, everyone. This is no different. I draw in my eyebrows because my partner loves dark eyebrows. I can promise you that's as sexual as whether I shave my pubes.
Ultimately though its your body so your choice and ONLY your choice. And in saying that, not doing it because you don't want to is as legitimate a choice as doing it to please your partner coz that's what couples do sometimes. It's no one else's business.
Oh dear... I hold this thread responsible for my current state of... un-dress.
So, after replying to the thread I was heading off to the shower and I thought, hmm... I probably could plait those buggers. Gave them a bit of a trim and thought, ah... may as well deal with the bikini line, despite the fact I have no intention of wearing a bikini in the near future. So, I pulled the depilatory cream out of the cupboard, where it has been sitting for a year or so, unopened and unused. I applied it to the edges of my bikini line and set about waiting the five minutes before climbing in the shower. The kids wandered into the bathroom and wanted to jump in the shower, so I put them in and leaned over to wash their hair. Incidentally, DD1 asked 'what's on your fanny, mum?' and I explained that it was a cream to dissolve hair as I wanted to tidy up the edges so that it didn't get stuck in my knickers!! So, 5 minutes of bending, squatting and hair washing passes and I climb in the shower to rinse it off... Only to discover that all that moving around with my legs together has spread cream... everywhere. Fair to say that I now have a landing strip. A narrow one. Nothing on the undercarriage. At all.
Poor DH won't get to pilot his plane at this new airport for a while as AF arrived yesterday afternoon. Murphy's law, really.
But I can highly recommend the Veet in-shower hair remover. I does what it says on the box. Just stand still whilst you're waiting for it to work!
Funny you should say that Sushee; I was watching Embarrassing Teen Bodies the other day, and Dr Pixie was walking around with a mannequin on which she had bestowed a rather full merkin. She was asking 18/19 year old boys and girls what they thought was a normal amount of hair, and what was the healthiest amount of hair. Not one of them left it as is, a couple removed the bikini line, but the majority gave the mannequin a full brazilian - they all thought it was the healthiest and cleanest option.
FWIW, Dr Pixie said it doesn't really matter, but obviously you've gotta look out for ingrown hairs causing a problem if you're removing hair.
I'll tell you that at the ripe old age of 18 was when I even KNEW that women shaved/waxed/whatever their bikini line. It was when I was living with room-mates and they were waxing with the bathroom door open. Being relatively hairless and with nothing beyond a triangular patch of sparsee hair the public region, I kinda just assumed everyone looked like me. I honestly didn't have reason to see a lot of women naked IRL, how would I have known any differently?
I think it is more an indictment of society that there are those out there who think that a full brazillion is the norm - and by your account, Kieke, that applies to boys and girls. Is it easier access to porn? Probably. Will it change as they get older? Possibly. Who knows, maybe it's what the next generation will just DO, just like many of our generation just wore g-strings (aka torture devices from hell).
So you can kinda get where the OP's DH might have gotten the idea. He's still wrong though. :D
Doesn't the box say not to use it near your genitals? DH wanted to find a cream for his crack and sack and they all said not for use in the genital area.:
Most youngsters know that what they see in a standard Hollywood flick isn't reality but they fail to apply the same filters to the adult industry. Why?
I think many young (and some older) males see porn as aspirational.
Maybe they see it more as a reality show like big brother, rather than actors in a fictional movie.
I prefer no hair. Just smoothness :) All my friends are the same actually. My DH also doesn't mind going hairless occasionally, but mostly he just trims. And yes, as someone pointed out earlier, it does feel amazing during 'adult activities' :lol:
But I never wax down there, it's way too painful!! Plus I wouldn't spend the money. I wax my own legs with the box strips though, easy peasy.

Do not use this on men's genitals! You can get the bikini line type one, and I found it fine, but poor DH was in a world of pain half a minute after putting it on. Was actually quite funny, both of us in the shower scrubbing it off down there, but yeah the poor bugger was a bit red after that!:
Zazou, this one specifically says it is for use on armpits and bikini line. It does say not to use it on genitals, I think this means 'be careful not to get this cream IN your vagina'. I put it all along the edges, including my groin underneath, and I was fairly generous as I didn't want to have to do it again if I didn't use enough the first time. It didn't get umm... inside (?!) and there was certainly no stinging sensation.
When DH and I first got together, he liked to groom me with veet/nair. I now suffer from major irritation in that area. Not sure if it is connected, but I would not recommend using a cream other than on the traditional bikini line zone, just to be on the safe side.
DH is lucky if I bother to shave my legs, or armpits....
See I accidentally did get some 'inside' as in not totally inside, but ...um ah you get it and yeouch, DO NOT ever, I mean, EVER do that. I'm a all for tidy bush girl - neat around the edges, trim underneath so there's no strays outside the knickers lol.:

Just remembered seeing a celebrity - maybe Gwenyth Paltrow, maybe Drew Barrymore (maybe neither) talking about her friend who insists on having an 80's bush and she and 2 of her other friends holding her down in the shower and shaving it. I don't have friends that close:o
Oh and if you want to see a real bush - dare you to google Demi Moore bush! WARNING - only if you are prepared for full and I mean FULL frontal nudity.
