    Question jeans??

i really need a new pair of jeans that fit my new 'body shape'
none of my pre-pregnancy jeans fit so i really need to purchase a couple of pairs for winter.
the problem is...i now seem to have muffin tops...i'm a size 12-14 (size 10-12 before pg) but my weight is distributed a bit differently and i have a bit of 'hang over' with most pair of pants.
can anyone suggest where i could buy jeans that cover/hide/eliminate muffins????

Did you just get inside my head?????
Man, what is with this new muffin top! I'm over it, NONE of my jeans fit except one pair. I was thinking of trying Jeans West, they seem to have such a range of fits, surely i can find something to contain the overflow.......
Let me know how you go!

Gracie, your hips might actually be wider now (I mean your pelvis might be bigger - not a plumpiness issue IYKWIM LOL). I'm not an expert but isn't a slightly higher waist line better for keeping the muffins down?

You might want to look for a sightly highter waist.
Esprit had some great jeans a while ago that were really muffin reducing and I also got a pair at sussan that don't create muffin.

Yeah I'd try a higher waisted pair. They're in now anyway right? So hopefully not too hard to find. Maybe man-style, wider leg to give a long line too. Hope i make some sort of sense, I'm fak! :P

I'll second Dachlostar & say SUSSAN!! I had the same problem & found that Sussan have slightly higher waisted jeans, they're kind of between hipsters & waisted jeans. They seem to suit a whole range of different shapes as well

    Good luck!

See I have a different outlook on hiding the muffin tops. I wear looser tops, ones that drop from under the boobs. This way not only are they easier to breastfeed in, they help to cover up the muffins

eeeekkkkk I hate the muffin top! But I'm not a fan of high waisted jeans - never tried on a pair that made me feel comfortable. I do a Trish and wear tops that are loose around the tummy area! Then I can hang my muffins out but they are covered
Mental note: go to the gym

high wasited jeans are in fashion now so you should have a reasonable amount of choice too.

OR...... You can just tuck it all in to the top and side of your jeans like my GF does. PMSL

    ROFL Trish

I would suggest higher waisted jeans, or maybe go a bigger size in the waist (with a belt pehaps). Wearing looser longer tops is a good idea too.

Also I think it depends on the brand of jeans. For exapmle, I can't wear Levi jeans as they don't fit my body shape, but I can wear Lee and Jag jeans.

    Good Luck

    Hey Gracie,

I can highly recommend the "espy" jeans from JAG. They are around the $100 mark but you can often find them @ 30% off. I wear them every single day, I have two pairs, I wear one for two days then the other for two days. They come in a few different shades of denim. They are not too high (not grandma style) and not too low (so no muffin top) and they cover my bum well, which seems to have got bigger lately??? Dunno how that happened?

ETA: Oh, and the espy comes in those in-between sizes too, like 9, 11, 13. The 13 fit me perfectly and just seem so much nicer, when you really know you're not a 12 anymore but you're not at 14 either (yet... ).

I was so sad to give away some of my jeans that I just cannot fit into after baby no 2. The tummy just won't go back to where it was!!!!!!

I went to Jeanswest and tried on about 10 pairs and even though they had size 9 (I was 8 before 2nd pg) and none looked right. I ended up at Sussans and they are so comfortable. They are stretch, so make sure you buy the ones that only just fit because they really do stretch. I couldn't get the size 8 done up, but the 9 feels too big after wearing them only once.

    Goodluck and happy shopping

    Don't say that Molly!!!

I'm fitting into my Giordano jeans right now, which are stretchy. I find their pants can be a bit hit and miss (well, most stores are hit and miss for jeans, since different styles suit people differently hey) but if you're at the shops and wander past a Giordano, it might be worth popping in for 5 mins?

You'd better report back when you find some jeans you like (pics even if you're brave!), to help the rest of us in our quest for awesome jeans! I'm just waiting for a bit more weight to drop off before I invest, so I'll be lazy and let you do my groundwork. :P
