I would but i like green and have lots of earthy coloured clothes.
I am asking myself this. I am not a shoe person, or much or a fashion person either (), so I am wondering if I would wear them. I saw a pair of khaki coloured wedges in an op shop today, which fit me really nicely, don't fall off when I walk, and are also quite comfortable.
The main reason I didn't buy them today, is I'm unsure of what I could wear them with. (Again,) What colours could I wear them with? I came home and had a look at my wardrobe (all my 'skinny' no-baby clothes), and saw a black and floral dress with a bit of green on it that I think they would go with. Um, oh yeah, a pair of long khaki shorts (3/4's?)? But what top could I wear, a black singlet or something? Could I go out on a fashion limb (and potentially hang myself) and wear them with a pink or red dress? Jeans and a top (black or pink or red) would go too?
Urgh! I just have NO idea about fashion! Its taken me a long time to get past wearing just black, I have ventured to red (usually red AND black, but hey, its a colour!), pink, brown (apparently suits me, and I feel comfortable in it), and dresses! Would anyone suggest any accessories to go with them? Maybe a bracelet/bangle or necklace for my children to grab me with perhaps?
Help me fashionable people, please!![]()
I would but i like green and have lots of earthy coloured clothes.
You mean shoes actually come in other colours other than black?
lol
I'm so not a good person to answer this - I have no fashion..
Khaki goes great with red and black. I wear mostly red and black and have dark khaki/olive green converse which contrast nicely.
I wear lots of green (just like my avvy!) and I would say khaki would go well with red/black/browns/whites. It's actually quite a versatile colour.... like grey. I'd say go for it, especially if they are comfortable. One thing I Don't do is suffer for fashion any more!
ETA: Actually I've just looked down and see that i'm wearing khaki coloured shoes ATM!!!! LOL they are Crocs, my gardening shoes... and they look quite good with denim too... hehe... compared to what I usually hang out in at home anyway!

awesome , go get those shoes , Kahki can be worn many ways ... with red , black , white , denim , any thing with a bit of green in them really ...
if you get the shoes , have a look for something that matches , like a top of 3/4 pants then you know you can wear the shoes and have something that goes with it !!!!!
wedges are hot and i prefer them over heels anyday !! i have 4 pairs , in pink , black , bone and gold !!
I'm with SUSE ... yep, khaki goes fantastic with cherry red & black ... or even a nice medium grey & red
Khaki was a big fashion colour hit in the Summer of 1979/80 ... scary to think i can remember that far back & i remember shell belts looked great with khaki terry-towelling dresses (OMG, has that fabric ever come back again ... BUT geez it was darn comfortable) & the shoes were khaki too with a rope fabric look about the medium wedge heels ... maybe you could bring that fashion back... I might add i was about 13 at the time, LOL !!
Khaki always makes me looked tanned ... I LOVE IT
If the shoes are comfy ... BUY EM![]()
Hmm. Okay then. I'll buy 'em! If they are still there tomorrow when I go there after my mw apt in the morning!
To be honest, I wasn't expecting such an overwhelmingly positive response.Fashionally naive me...
Summer of '79/80 ai? I was only born in 1979, so forgive me if I don't remember that.... I will add these wedges DO have the rope look fabric around the heel.... Not that I can see that when I'm wearing them really.
NETIX ... LOL, 1979 bub, ... even more reason to go & buy em
(sorry i don't remember much about 1979 other than i was too busy 'just' noticing boys then at 13)
I remember 1979 clearly... I was 9! And had a pair of white platform wedges with rope soles... I looooved those shoes... wore them to death.
I bought them!I finally made it back to the op shop (urgh- bad morning, don't ask!), and the first thing I picked up were the shoes. I then picked out a couple of tops which should match nicely, probably with jeans or black pants and laybyed them, as I thought I better not spend all my money at the opshop, especially when things are tight atm
. One was a stretchy dark brown top (hey, if it doesn't match, I'll wear it with something else, its really nice anyway!), and the other was a see through long top (you know, its probably meant to be a dress!) from Supre, in army camo, which I think will look very nice with a long black top underneath (have just the one actually!).
Thank you all for your wonderful comments on fashion! I know where to ask next time too!
I have a khaki coloured pair of ballet flats and I LOVE them!! I usually wear them with jeans and either a black or white top. What colours could I wear them with?
Are those ballet flats comfortable? And do they stay on your feet? I haven't got a pair of those either!
If you've got long thin feet ballet flats work fantastically, if you've got short, wide feet like mine they don't fit well at all.
I live in flats!! I wear a cute little black pair to work and I think I probably have five different pairs I wear on normal days!!!
They have heaps in Kmart/Big W that are reasonably priced. I only spend more ($50+) on work shoes because I live in them. Otherwise I bargin hunt!
Yeah I can't wear ballet flatsShort/wide feet here. I should start a thread about styles/brands of shoe for different foot shapes.
I love ballet shoes and sneakers, but I hate militaristic colours.
I don't own much in Karki, with the exception of a home hacked Che tee-shirt.
I mostly wear black, hot pink and purple, with green and grey thrown in. Maybe some orange (but my partner hates it due to certain Irish connotations).
I'm sure that Susan and Trinny would have a field day with my wardrobe!
