    Need hair colour advice!! Urgent

Hi Ladies, I've spent half the day calling various hairdressers getting quotes for a colour, cut & blowdry & they are all wanting to charge $200 plus. I know thats the normal going rate I've paid that before, but we are getting married and I'm trying to keep the costs down where I can. I'm after a full colour & half a head of foils. In short, do you think I can colour my own hair a few days before (choccy brown) & then go in to a salon for the foils? My hair wont turn green or anything!? LOL

Yep, you can do that. I have before.
I don't know what your hair is like now but it will only turn green if you try and dye it from blonde to dark. To avoid this, put a red rinse through first, then dye.

    Hey MadsMum,

Congrats on the upcoming wedding!! Good luck and I hope your day is perfect

I would normally say go for it but it's your wedding and if something does happen to go wrong you could end up paying even more money.!! Not trying to scare you however I have had a similar bad very bad experience so now I leave it to the professionals.

Try hairdressers that work from home, I have a hairdresser who comes to my house I have half a head of foils, toner, treatment, shampoo and conditioner & a cut and DH has a cut too for $150. The only downside is you have to clean up the hair but for the cheaper price it's worth it.

Good luck and all the best.

if you are going to do your own base color, going fom brunette to choc brown, try get a more ashy brown...if you go a reddy brown, when the salon puts the foils in, the bleach will pick up the red in the reddy brown and ull end up with orange foils instead of blonde :P

MadsMum, I can recommend a great hairdresser in Perth if you like? I've been seeing her for about 8 years now and she's fantastic and very affordable.
