Question Nioxin - Anyone tried it?

Since falling pregnant this time around, my hair has been falling out by the handful... it is also dry and horrid.

I went to buy some shampoo & conditioner and had Nioxin recommended to me. It is a little more expensive than the usual stuff I buy, but it is not out of the question. I was given a couple of samples which I intend to use tonight... but I am wondering if anyone out there in BB land has used this and would they recommend it?

    TIA

Iisa, I tried it cause I was growing my hair out of a really short cut. It took a couple of months to notice any real evidence, but man did it start to grow like weeds and it was so thick and healthy. You must use the scalp spray stuff though or it's not going to work properly. So yeah, I highly reccommend the stuff.

    Thanks Sue.

I think I will give it a go. My hair is usually really thick & healthy but this pregnancy is taking it's toll on it.

Thanks so much for your reply

No probs Lisa, you will love the results in a couple of months time. It's expensive, but oh so worth it and definately no gimmick either.

Ooh, what's this Nioxin?? Never heard of it. My hair is pretty good, and it's especially lovely during pregnancy (although a tad greasier than I would like, I actually have to wash it, which I usually can go for weeks without doing hehe), but it's always been VERY slow-growing... It's taken me about four years to grow my hair from shoulder-length to waist-length, most people I know can accomplish that in less than half the time :/ So I'm always looking for things that might give it a bit of a boost as far as growing long goes, kwim.
So does it help with speeding up growth, or is it just to help with hair loss??

I'm not sure if it helps the hair to grow quicker or not, but it helps with the quality of your hair. Usually throughout pregnancy my hair is fantastic, but with this one it is terrible... I am losing it by the handful (thankfully it is already really thick) and it is dry & dull. I have only used the Nioxin twice and I don't know if it is my imaginiation or not, but I don't seem to be losing as much hair already. I am definitely going to go buy the proper stuff today
There is a website if you're interested... just google Nioxin.
